Virgo:: "Water that is too pure has no fish," wrote Zen teacher Ts'ai Ken T'an. Keep that advice close to your heart in the coming days, Virgo. Your clean, clear ideas will become sterile unless you mix in some quirky, unruly emotions. Your spiritual intentions may become awkwardly rigid unless you loosen them up with a bit of healthy blasphemy. So please don't push for utter perfection. Be careful not to burn away every last flaw or banish every last messy doubt. In order to know the truth, you'll have to consort with BS.

Oh, believe me, I've had some unruly emotions. Contradictory emotions. Even a nice case of rose-colored glasses that I've had to correct. That said, I don't think my spiritual intentions have ever been anything other than healthily blasphemous-- sure, I'm aiming to be the best me I can be, but I do it with a slap and tickle sometimes, because despite the deep Virgo streak of perfection and "I must always do my best," I know I'll never be perfect. I also know that I may never know "the truth," but I can tell you I've had my absolute fill of BS for a long, long time. Moving on.

Today is going to be a good day. I had a great counseling session last night, and slept for nine hours uninterrupted. I look supacute in my new jeans and boots. I'm wearing the funky metal earrings that _freyja_ made for me, my hair is all shiny and stuff, and I just got paid. I am doubly excited because a) bossman is not charging me for H/R's insurance snafu, and b) I just got a little raise. It's not much, but it was unexpected and nice. I ALSO got kickass earrings from nalathilion, whose wire-wrapping skills own, and those little green glass leaves match my bellydance practice stuff perfectly. And dude. Those pearls are so kickass. Thank you!

I have pumpkin bread for breakfast, I'm goin' shopping with Sarah tonight, I've got awesome hangouts set up for later tonight and all weekend long (when did I get so busy?), a couple of fun parties on the horizon, and Flissy and I had good practice on Tuesday. We're performing at the All Seasons Hafla at the Spice Cafe in Towson on December 2, and so we had a brainstorming meeting about all of the new elements and combos we want to work into that performance. Stuff Flissy learned from TribeO, different staging, combos to learn from various DVDs, turns. Some fun and funky stuff with a lot of sass. We're pretty sure that at least half of it will be improv, but we'll likely have a couple of choreographed bits, too. So we're looking at music now, and I was totally inspired by one of the tracks on her Balkan cd to work on a bellydance/latin ballroom fusion step that I think will rock the house once I have it down. We also decided to find ourselves a hot tabla player posthaste, and I absolutely do not mind being used as bait.

Also, the boys are back in town. Winchesterpalooza begins tonight! Praise Dean!

Things are most certainly looking up. :)
