Ugh.
Ugh. Bossmann is making everyone tense today. So, so much I need to say, but I'll save it for a locked post.

Focusing on positive things: I have cinnamon and hazelnut in my coffee. I have a bright shiny new Razr phone wherein I can actually *hear* what the person I'm speaking to is saying. I got in on a decant circle for Halloween scents that looked promising. I have a cookie. Simple things, you know?

I also have practice tonight with Flissy, wherein we're going to go over slow movements and get more in synch. Then we're going to do some improv and go over some newer combos. She's gonna teach me another Kajira one, and we should probably drill the Kajira zill combo that looks awesome when we get it right, but I have a hard time switching zill rhythms while remembering choreography. It's just not in my muscle memory yet, but it will be.

BPAL of the day:
Chimera::
The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal.
On me, this is Dana O'Shee + cinnamon. Really, I get a strong almond note in there somewhere, mixed with baking spices, like the candied spiced almonds I get at Faire. Not at all volatile, this is actually quite warm and comfortable, a veritable cuddly sweater of a scent. There's a little bit of something resin-y in there, probably the copal. But what honeysuckle note that there might have been has long since faded away and been replaced by creamy warmth-- more like honey than a floral, really.

ETA: Omg, guy with Scottish accent on the line. In my head, you are Desmond. </ accent drooling>

In anticipation of PMS of doom, I decided to spend some after-practice time with big lumps of cookie dough, cinnamon tea, and the eighties-tasticness that is The Lost Boys, which I had never seen.

Um.

It was like watching two separate movies. You had the older brother's story-- a neo-gothic horror thriller. And you had the younger brother's story, which was a farcical comedy. Together... it was just... I don't know. Enjoyable, but in that bad, "I should be MS3TK-ing this" kind of way.

Also... I never knew that one of the signs of becoming a vampire was that you wake up stuck to the ceiling. Or that blood looks a lot like Kool Aid. Or that Bill's mild Wyld Stallions persona has a much darker alter ego... with a horrendous wig, to boot. And that bodybuilder rocker dude in the purple spandex pants with the sax? Easily the most frightening thing in the movie.

You know what's the worst part? They're making a sequel. And it has surfing vampires.

Oh man. I think I need to own this movie if only to pull it out on margarita nights.
