Virgo:: Welcome to Part Two of your outlook for the second half of 2007, Virgo. We're checking up on how you're progressing with the long-term tasks you were assigned six months ago. I hope that by now you're at least midway through a transformation of your relationship to family. That might mean you're leading a revolution to reinvent your family of origin. It might mean you're making decisions about how to shape the family of your future. It could involve you working hard to ensure that you have a close-knit group of people, not necessarily related to you biologically, to serve as a reliable source of emotional sustenance. Or all of the above.

Interesting, as Skyler and I were talking about just that on Friday. Cut.Collapse ) Anyway, I am in a weird space now where I'm effectively between "families." I had a strong college family-- we've since drifted. We keep in touch for the Big Things, but there's space. We're different people now. That's natural. Currently, there's the dance crowd. There's Sky's family, and by extension the community at Gaia. (Side note-- I always get a little antsy when I partially co-opt a partner's family. There's that little fatalistic voice that says "don't get attached, cause if you break up, you'll lose a whole lot more." I'm doing better at silencing it, and things are good, but a couple of spectacular breakups have really done a number on me. Mike's mom still sends me birthday and Christmas cards.) There are all the people I met through Abby. And there are older friends with whom I am still close-- Ariel, Agnes, Anna. The line between family and friends blurs and overlaps. Still things are still shifting, settling. My life is expanding, and expansion brings change. I'm interested to see where this goes.

In other news, guh. Kidneys are hurting today. No coffee for me for a bit. Water and cranberry and lots of rest. I went to bed early last night, and I thought it was just the workout from rehearsal. I woke up still groggy and all sorts of uncomfortable. Boo on this. If it keeps up, I'll have a doctor's appointment tomorrow.
