Virgo:: The coming weeks will be an excellent time for you to become dramatically clearer about the nature of your ambitions. To jumpstart the process, read this insight from career counselor Robin Hirschberg: "People tend to confuse their purpose ('What do I love to do?'), with their ideals ('How am I comfortable behaving?'), and their desired results ('What can I achieve?')." Now get to work figuring out the truth about those three foundation stones, Virgo. Once you do that, develop a plan for getting them to work together synergistically.

Last night, I finished the Aphrodite necklace. It's similar in theme to Venus, which... no suprise there. The main difference is that Aphrodite is double-stranded and ends in a gilded abalone shell, where Venus has a large rose quartz pendant and nuggets of the same throughout. Both feature small pearls and gold-flecked glass.

Nuit/Nut is next to be finished-- blue goldstone orbs. I'm trying to decide whether or not to put Swarovski stars in there, too. Faceted shiny crystals, except used sparingly in earrings or somesuch, are not my thing. Too bling-y. But Nuit is definitely a night-time necklace, and the theme is unsuprisingly night sky with stars. The necklace would be appropriate for Nyx as well, I think, since they are similar in purpose.

Then comes Selene-- a 55mm mother of pearl crescent breastplate, and the strands will be seed beads, moonstone rondelles, and maybe opalite. I'm drawn to make jewelry for several of the lunar Goddesses (Diana, for instance)-- my challenge will be to reflect them without their expression becoming repetitive or homogenized.

I really want to acquire some Azure Malachite and Chrysocolla, but damn... expensive.

ETA: Eee! I know what Pele's gonna look like. Round beads made of lava, red spacers, smoldering carnelian pendant.

A pair, to be exact. Shoulder-length, in purple, black, and hot pink accents. 15 dreads per fall, since I'll use 'em as accents, not full coverings.

Marley at Darklocks has great customer service. I'll probably buy yarnfalls from other people just for fun, too, but I was super impressed with the quality of the stuff I saw and am glad to make this pair my first.

They're due to arrive early July-- I'll post pics when they do!
