Virgo:: While riding my bike along a route I've often traveled, I spied an unexpected sight: Standing amidst a twist of vines was a red signpost that said "Cherry Blossom Lane." How could I not have seen that before? I pedaled over and found the beginning of a narrow road that had previously escaped me as well. I felt like I was in one of those dreams where you discover a hidden magic room in the attic of a familiar house. My heart filled with an irrational, child-like anticipation of imminent delight. I pedaled up a steep incline, disappointed to see there were no cherry trees in bloom. But as I reached the end of a cul-de-sac, I spotted a glint of gold in the mud. It was a statue of Jesus and Buddha holding hands, and there was a $20 bill taped to the bottom. Everything I just described is a metaphor for what I predict you'll soon experience.

Your humble narrator is tired. Tired, and I may not make much sense today. All apologies. Sugar and caffeine are all that's keeping me upright at the moment.

Sea Chanty Sing was a time last night. Pirate songs, mariner songs, songs about things that are wet (no, Christina, my table chided me. Not those songs). Liz, Phil, Colleen, Abby, and James turned up, and there was much eating of cake and telling of dirty jokes. ("If Christina turns into a popsicle, does that mean I can lick her until she warms up?") I got in and barely managed to pull off my boots before I faceplanted in my bed and was out like a light. I have not been getting enough sleep of late. If such a thing were possible, I think I'm starting to get social-butterflied out, and it's not even halfway through my very very full week. I think this coming Monday, the first day I have free, I'm just going to come home from work, treat myself to a long bath, and go to bed early. I've been a little overextended of late, and I need to take some time to breathe and treat myself gently.

Also? Dear God, I am sick of the snow. I am tired of being cold all the time, tired of being low-energy due to lack of sunlight. I've got blue circles under my eyes. I'm so, so ready for Spring.

In other news, my phone is behaving oddly. I've head from three people now that I'm not receiving messages as I should. This should be fairly short-lived, and I'm up for a free phone upgrade on 3/20. But just as a heads-up, email is almost always the best way to contact me unless it's urgent.

Random note: Our FedEx chick is cute.

Tonight: Agnes, ANTM, hot shower, Lost, zzzzzzzzzzz.

So, as I'm getting back into jewelry-making, I've been browsing Etsy for beads and inspirations. My pretty blue sandstone beads should be waiting for me at home! Yay.

1 Of My Kind:: Gorgeous antique-style jewelry with stunning gems. I want one of everything in this shop. Everything. And for the quality, it's exremely reasonably priced.

Bethany Cooper Jewelry:: Pretty jewelry, lots of dichroic glass pieces.

Beadkeepers:: Gorgeous nature-inspired jewery and Goddess beads. Out of my price range unless I were to splurge on something really special, but I'd consider it.

Serenedreams:: Perfume oil necklace vials, hand-poured candles, incense.

Gudonya:: Vegan bath and body with a good reputation for quality.

Catholic Guilt:: Pretty beaded jewelry with a decadent flair.

Olivia Moon Designs:: Pretty deco pendants.

And one non-Etsy-- The Kitschen is run by my awesome friend and bellydance buddy Flissy / marinatempest. Cool pendants, beaded jewelry, artwork, and hand-bound books. Check it out!
