Virgo:: Some scientists believe our brains are in a continual state of war. Writing in LiveScience.com, Bjorn Carey reports that our grey matter is a battleground where competing thoughts and impulses struggle for supremacy, brawling and jousting for our undivided attention. I have reason to believe that this ruckus will be far more pronounced than usual for you in the coming weeks, Virgo. All of your pairs of opposites will intensify their conflict, with each side clamoring and maneuvering to be declared winner. What I recommend may surprise you. I think you should just sit back with amused tolerance and let them fight it out. There really is no pressing need for you to be anything other than a radiant bundle of fascinating contradictions.
Mmm, I had some of my favorite wine last night. Estancia's Pinot Noir. Okay, it's my favorite of the wines I can actually afford, but it's still pretty damn good. I went to bed feeling warm and pleasantly sleepy.
This morning, the Starbucks I usually go to was having water filtration issues, and so I went to Caribou Coffee instead. The verdict: I don't like the coffee as much, but whoa with the eye candy. One of the guys behind the counter was just plain pretty. Curly brown-black hair and hazely-green eyes. Well, um. I like Caribou's carmel apple cider, and fall's almost here. So there.
Tonight, I plan on stopping off at the mall before I have to be anywhere in particular. I'd like to buy a few skirts to putter around in. I might also do a little sniff-browsing at Yankee, but I've yet to try the new tarts at DarkCandles or Enkindle. I had been under the impression that Agnes and I were hanging tonight, but as she's Miss I'm Preparing To Leave For China, I think that's getting pushed back a smidge. Which is fine, I have a few more postcards to write before I send out my batch tomorrow morning. For all of my fellow stationery conoisseurs-- Fairystore on eBay has some really nice stuff.
Tomorrow night, I will not be swing dancing. The next day I'm going is August 4th, for the big band. When I'm in for the evening, I'm going to work on my book reviews-- Merry Gentry first, then the compare/contrast on two sacred sexuality books. Also, I don't think I ever reviewed War for the Oaks, so I should get on that, too.
Saturday, I am going to wake up leisurely, treat myself to a nice scented bath, read in the tub, and make waffles. I may be attending a friend's crab feast in the afternoon. Yancy, weren't you going to do one of those, too? Regardless, we should make plans for next week. I've just been busy and exhausted lately-- I needed some intense battery recharging. Anyhow.
