1. If it weren't for hazelnut lattes, I would never survive Monday mornings.

2. IP logging will be off on the meme until tonight, because I keep getting comments. We're at 120+ comments now. Keep 'em coming. Err... maybe I should re-word that.

3. I would give my eyeteeth to figure out who a few of them are. I've guessed a couple, but still. It tickles me pink to know that at least on the internet, I don't fly completly under gaydar. Now if I could only manage to translate that to real life... Also, ever really want to say something, but then you don't say it because you don't want to make things awkward and weird? Yeah.

4. My dreams keep getting weirder. I had a dream wherein I got to pinch Nathan Fillion's ass, among other things. It was interesting.

5. Pre-emptive notification: Jeff, these are not Side Thoughts (TM)-- I have been doing list posts for years. Fridays are traditional, but in general, I do it when I'm feeling scatterbrained.

6. Father's day went fine. I went to three separate dinners/lunches/cookouts. I baked in the sun-- I have a red crescent-moon over my lower back where the sun beat down on the skin between my waistband and my shirt. Oh, sexay.

7. Am now out of the closet on my mother's side. My mother was talking about a friend of hers who has a gay son, and my sister goes, "so, did you tell her that you have a bisexual daughter?" I almost choked on my shrimp salad sandwich. Considering my sister's, uh... tact and finesse, I have to say that it went over rather well, all things considered. I mean, they kind of already knew, it was just one of those things that Was Not Discussed, you know? I'm not disowned, and my parents have decided that they support gay marriage, if only because "real Americans" (read: not them Mexi-can immigrants) deserve equal rights. Oh, parents. Well, one step at a time, right? Now to work on my mother's fem-mullet.

8. The funniest thing that happened to me was definitely when I was walking down the street, and this pickup truck slowed down to cruise next to me. I was expecting crude sexual come ons, maybe a few "hey baby"s or something like that, but no-- these two guys, in unison, started singing "You Are So Beautiful To Me." I stopped and listened to the chorus, clapped, and apologized that no, as cute as that was, they would not be getting my number.

9. I have got to get caught up with writing in my paper journal tonight.

10. You know that weird Japanese ice cream, Mochi? I was feeling adventurous, and I bought the chocolate kind. You're supposed to serve them in twos. Well... uh, they kind of look like testicles. Little, wrinkly, chocolate testicles. Especially since the ice cream is surrounded by this chewy, skin-type dough. I was way too grossed out, man. Beware the Mochi.

... the weekend went by way too fast.

After a long weekend of hot, sticky weather, the clouds just opened up and all hell broke loose. The sky is slate gray; rain is pouring down in thick, slanted sheets. I felt my stomach clench up in anticipation.

Tonight is going to be a quiet night. I'm going to take a warm shower and wash slowly. I'm going to let my hair dry in waves. I'm going to make a large pot of jasmine pearl tea and savor it. I'm going to unravel my thoughts on the written page. There's much to be said-- so much I haven't actually worked through yet. So many of the things I write are on the surface. I'm going to write until I fall asleep under the soft glow of pale white lights.
