For all of you going to DC Pride this weekend, here's the tentative plan. I plan on being in DC by mid-afternoon to walk around and see the sights. I was thinking that dinner might be good in DuPont Circle around 5ish, and anyone who's interested is welcome to join. I was thinking cheaply, so Teaism or something like that is on the menu.

The parade starts at 6:30. Anyone who's not doing dinner should meet up there, right in DuPont, by that circular park/fountain. It'll be full of people, but if you don't see me, I'll have my cell on. (Noelle, I'll check for text messages-- do you have a phone, or is there a better way to reach you?)

After the parade, APEX opens at 9:00pm. It's Liquid Ladies night, but men are invited as well. The plan is to stay there (cover is $10) or pick another gay-themed club in the area once we're all together.

Coming-- me, Agnes & possibly some roommates, Ariel & Alex, Skyler, Noelle... who else?

In non-Pride news, Sashimi, my oldest betta, passed away in the night. I saw it coming-- in fishie years, he was practically Methuselah. In truth, he was pretty active, even up until the end. It was only last night that I noticed he was having trouble getting to the top of his bowl for air, so I transferred him to a shallower bowl, put some stress coat in with him, and turned the light off so he'd likely go peacefully. He'd survived four moves-- that's one hearty fish. I gave him a nice burial this morning in the garden. I would be a lot sadder if he'd suffered a lot, or if he'd gotten sick, but as deaths go, this was pretty natural.

Sake is the last betta, and also the newest-- I got him six months ago, which puts him at about a year old or so. I think I'm going to get a new betta soon, only because I've seen that bettas stay healthier when they have someone in a neighboring tank to flare at. Still, RIP, little fishie. You were a good pet.
