...and we all know, this means numbered post.

1. First and foremost, lm wrote Waking The Moon fic for 1character. And it's good. I always love it when I see good stuff coming from the coolest but most obscure fandom ever.

2. Speaking of Elizabeth Hand, I finished Mortal Love this morning and will write a review of it at lunchtime.

3. I had an adventure on the way to work this morning. The cabs have been overloaded this week, and so yesterday, I sucked it up and walked to and from the bus stop, a mile and a half each way. This morning, I did the same, except that as I passed the detour sign where the Sudbrook Lane bridge is out, I spied a tiny opening between two houses on the other side. I took a chance, climbed down the muddy embankment, hopped across the railroad tracks, and climbed up the other side. My 45 minute walk became 25 minutes, and will be 20 minutes once the bridge is back in service. It probably won't fly on rainy days, but it was fine for today, when the sun was shining and the birds were filling the air with song. I had a little extra time, so I took off my jacket and bought myself a coffee to sip as I waited.

4. I also bought myself Cadbury Mini Eggs. Every year, I forget about these things until I see them shoved behind the cream eggs on some convenience store counter. I buy a pack and wonder how I could possibly go eleven months out of the year without that crunchy sugar shell. It tastes like Easter, it tastes like Spring.

5. BPAL of the day is Euterpe, the muse of music and lyric poetry. Her scent is the joy of performing, the euphoria in song, and the passion inspired by all music: carnation and white poppy, honeysuckle, lemon, iris and white musk. I smell the poppy and the iris most clearly-- surprisingly, very little honeysuckle, which is fine by me because my skin chemistry twists it a little astringently. It's a lovely soft scent, delicate almost, but very beautiful indeed.

6. Last chance at an 8-imp pack (Antony, Burial, Chuparosa, Danse Macabre, Jabberwocky, Jailbait, Urd, Wolfsbane). $15 gets 'em shipped. This will be posted to the forum tomorrow, as I need money for when Maelstrom reviews come out!

7. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Atmospheric CD swap.

8. BSA people might be interested to know that I bumped into Jermaine Gardner on the bus this week. He's doing well, and is married with a little baby girl! For those who don't know who I'm talking about, Jermaine is the most gifted pianist I've ever heard, bar none. Gifted as in "I played for the Reagans at age 4 and have made several subsequent trips to the White House" gifted. Latina, I have his phone number if you're interested. He says hi. (Also, Liz Kent is getting married. Why are all my friends suddenly adults?)

9. McDaniel people might be interested to know that I got an email from Dr. Mary and she says hello!

10. Friday Night Swing tonight! Come if you want to have fun!

ETA:: 11. How will I be defined?Collapse )
