What the hell?!

In other news, it is 2 am, and I cannot sleep. I keep smelling the scent of phantom bacon.

Insomnia makes me slightly odd.

I called out today. I haven't called out for something that didn't send me to the emergency clinic in quite some time. But today? I had a terrible headache and mild nausea. I just didn't feel well. Plain and simple.

It had a lot to do with last night's insomnia, I'm sure. When 4:30 am rolled around, I was still staring at my ceiling. I kept drifting off to sleep, then jolting back awake after five minutes. I don't know why, exactly. I know it sounds strange to say so, but there are some nights where this room doesn't feel quite settled to me. Nights where I see odd shadows and hear strange creakings-- and yes, I've been covering my mirrors again. I'm sure it's mostly my imagination. Still, I'm going to smudge the entire place when I set my altar up next week. It might make my room smell like a grandma for a little while, but it does help with clearing out negative energies.

I finally fell asleep and stayed asleep between 8:30am and 2:30pm. When I woke up, I made myself a good lunch-- a bagel, two eggs, a grapefruit, and some comforting white tea. The nausea abated, but it took awhile for the headache to fade away. I was pretty groggy for awhile. At least I got to spend some quality time with my mouse, Jacques. While I know he's happy not to be getting beat up all the time, I'm sure he misses having company.

As for tonight, I am going to do my best to get a good eight hours in after I watch the most recent L Word episode. I've had a nice, hot shower, and I'm about to make myself some chamomile lavender herbal tea. Then I'm going to dab on a little of BPAL's Somnus oil. I don't know why I didn't think of that last night-- that stuff always makes me sleep like a rock, and I don't wake up until my alarm goes off.

Speaking of The L Word, for those of you who don't have Showtime, I have all of season 2 saved to my hard-drive in .avi format, and I can generally get the latest season 3 episodes by the day after the newest episode airs. My source would rather I not share her link because of bandwidth issues, but I'd certainly be willing to upload the new eps to YouSendIt and post a link for anyone that would like to see them. I swear, I wish I could just order Showtime, but it definitely won't fit into my budget.

And I'm curious about Dr. Who. What's the general concept? If I wanted to get into the show, where should I start, considering I don't watch TV all that much, and the newer eps aren't showing in America yet?
