I've been lately juggling several Pagan books, one of which is Autumn Equinox: The Enchantment of Mabon, a book of Mabon magic, myth, herb lore, and custom. It's been interesting from a folklore perspective, and I've been enjoying it very much.

My question-- I'd like a comparable book on the topic of Samhain. I have several books that briefly feature Samhain sections, but I'd like a book solely on the topic. My options look rather limited. There's the Silver RavenWolf book, which, to be polite, no. The other option that seems to pop up is Gerina Dunwich's The Pagan Book of Halloween, which, from what I've read, has some faulty scholarship, as well. On the plus side, I can buy a used copy for $2 and pass it along when I'm done.

Are there any comprehensive books that you'd recommend on Samhain customs and myth? I'm looking for something equal parts solid scholarship and interesting tidbits.

As a side note, I had sweet red grapes and I'm burning a pumpkin pie Yankee tart. I'm doing the bliss thing.

ETA: Check out this neat gallery of stylized Pagan art by Thalia Took. She's got a CafePress shop that sells stationery and other stuff with her designs on it. I think I might order some postcards.

ETA2: I'm pimping one of my communities. If you're a reader, hie your ass over to witchy_reads and write up some reviews!
