Very very very long day of RA training. There's not a whole lot I can say, because my brain is so fried you could serve it on toast. Room Condition Reports (RCRs) are a complete bitch, for lack of better term. My area consists of 24 North Village apartments, 36 Garden Apartments, and 12 houses. What did we get done today? 10 GA apartments. They each took 1/2 an hour to do apiece even in groups of three. I realize that I'm the only RA returning to the area, but when I do three different rooms for other members' 1 room report, I can't help but feel that this process is neverending. Not to mention that my staff has about twice as much ground to cover as other staffs because we have to fill out individual rooms plus at least three common area reports per apartment or house (some of which are absolutely fubar). And we're down one man. Will is a football player, and he's going to be gone often for practice. This is the most excruciating part overall.
I have to be up at 6:45 to go to Gettysburg, where we will be doing low ropes in the morning. No more high ropes, and not even camping. To be perfectly un-PC, we had too many non-physically-inclined (ahem) who bitched and moaned about anything that required even a modicum of physical effort, and so we don't really get to do any major trips this year. No climbing Cunningham Falls this year, which I was really looking forward to.
And to top it all off, I have a 400 page book to read on tape that I know will be late, and I know Carole Waddell will be pissed at me about. I expected to have more time on my hands. With all of the setbacks, I really don't.
On the positive side of life, I bought a 3 foot bookshelf today for the fishies, and accidentally put it together wrong. One of the inside panels was completely upside down, so the boardy part was showing. So, I busted out the acrylic paint and had a few blissful hours of painting. I painted the inside shelves copper with cool asymmetrucal gold stripes, and the outer edges gold. It looks cool, very Autumn-y and modern.
On the negative side, I didn't get to talk to Mike at all. Honey, sorry. I love you. :) I'll try to give you a call in the afternoon, because I doubt you want me to call you at 7:00am. I left you a message, though.
And Racheal's here, unpacking stuff.
Gah. Must. Sleep.

17flyingfish-- Has B's last name always been Rice? I'm drawing a blank, but I don't think so. Am I going insane?
