What do you like most about the summer season?

For me, Summer has always been a time for hibernation and reflection. I cocoon. I spend lots of time pursuing my own interests, reading for pleasure and working on projects that the school year does not afford me time to work on.

How does weather affect your spirituality? Are you more active in the summer with pagan activities or less? Do you meditate outside or inside depending on weather?

Weather always affects my spirituality, particularly the changing of the seasons and the fresh winds each season brings. I generally don't meditate outside due to my surroundings (it's quieter inside, less crowded). Summer is not my main spiritual season-- although I use it to work on spiritual projects, the heat drains me. I find that the transitional seasons (Spring and particularly Autumn) deeply mark me and always bring me out of doors, and by extenstion, to my own spirituality, since I follow a Nature religion.

What's your favorite summer ritual?

Well, I don't generally have formal rituals, except for Beltane and Samhain, as a solitary. I enjoy Midsummer for the energy that the day brings-- I like abundance holidays, and the faery lore of Midsummer is always enchanting. I no doubt will have other thoughts once I start doing rituals with others.

And I made a special icon just for this post-- from Practical Magic. I had a great animation, too, but JASC is turning it into a big blurry mess. Hopefully I'll fix that.
