I was horrified last night when I came home to see that Sushi was still biting his tail. This is even shorter than earlier in the day (click for pic) and MUCH shorter than when I first got him (click for pic). So, after I treated him with more Melafix, I figured he might be in need of more stimulation. I moved him to somewhere new away from my other males and got him a new bowl and toys. Sadly, I don't think his beautiful green streak will grow back in the same. ( Cut for two pics of his new house.Collapse )

He's got a new plant, a tiny bridge, and a floaty pink ball thing. Also, his new bowl is wider than taller (the opposite of his old bowl), so maybe that'll help. I put him on my altar because that's just about the only place other than my desk where he'll get good light and I can keep an eye on him, plus a little prayer can't hurt, right? And as I've highlighted, I've charged Buddha to keep an eye on him, so get right on that, happy_buddha. :) Hopefully this'll stem off any further tailbiting, but if any of you have advice on how you've dealt with your tailbiter fish, I'd be very appreciative!
