Meet Sushi.

He's a male, sapphire blue with a stripe of teal down the tail and two red front fins. I brought him home today, along with ph testers, stress coating, water equalizer... I'm a nervous first-time fishy owner.

I almost didn't pick him-- there was another male who was a gorgeous shade of cardinal red. But then this one put on a show, swimming vigorously around his bowl, puffing his fins out as if to say "Notice ME, idiot!" And so I did.

But I like that red one. He was very chill. If I can find a suitable vase as big as the one I have for Sushi, I'll go back for him. I think I'll name him Sashimi, from asphyxia's suggestion, because he looks like a Sashimi. Does Sashimi have a meaning?

AS for Sushi, he's enjoying life, exploring his new bowl, eating dried blood worms. happy_buddha suggested the name, and I instantly took to it. It appealed to my sensibility of naming fish after food. I am occasionally callous and strange. But I have a fishy! Eee!
