I got gigantic, juicy red strawberries yesterday when I went to the store. Buy one, get one free. They're bigger than most strawberries I've ever seen-- and sweet. I got whipped cream as well, and they'll be the *actual* dessert for Mike tonight (I plan on buying a hostess cupcake).

Cute story though. Yesterday, as I was pulling into the checkout line at Safeway, the bottom to one of the strawberry crates gave out, scattering the red berries all over the floor. As I knelt to pick them up, a little girl, scarcely four, bent down to help me. She had curly dark hair and wide brown eyes. When I thanked her, she smiled at me. It put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Off to work I go, high-ho.

I did win another auction, though. I got a really nice Amber-scented pillar candle for half the price it costs from the retailer. And then I saw this lamp. It retails for $70, and lit up, it's so gorgeous. I couldn't afford it when I saw it, so I boutght one matching votive holder. One, because I couldn't afford a set. And there are several of the lamp and the votive holders on ebay. When the time is right, oh, it shall be mine. :)

Michael's sleeping in my bed right now. I suppose I'll watch the DVD all by myself, then. :)

We'll be going into DC tomorrow to browse the national art galleries and a few others for his birthday, and then it's off to Noodles & Co. for dinner.

As for me, I have Kahlua mudslides and strawberries.





A bit of news that disgusted me:: Fred Phelps pickets Reagan Funeral.

That man is one of the most disgusting cretins to ever slither across this Earth. This is supremely uncalled for. Personally, I don't think that Reagan was the best President. His economics were all sorts of wonky. But he was there for the country during the Cold War, and as Mike said, he did a damn good job of acting the President. I don't agree with people who are making him into Saint Reagan, but he deserves respect for the office he held and the character he showed throughout his life.

Freddy boy, the message Jesus preached was love. If 'fags' can understand it, why the hell can't you?? Furthermore, telling someone that 'God hates them,' isn't going to make them see your light. It'll make them run screaming from it. What was it the Bible said? Something about not being a stumbling block?? Oh, yeah.

In other news:: Concern about Bush's Mental Health On the Hill. This doesn't seem like accurate, reliable journalism, but it sure as hell was entertaining.
