She's back!

Hello hello hello my lovely friend-type people! I'm so glad to be back in my sweet little bass-ridden apartment. Three weeks home with my family did not kill me as expected, nor did it drive me towards homicidal mania, which is a plus, I guess. And with the exception of this little bit of idiocy regarding this picture of me I'm using in an icon (and have used in a past layout), things have apparently gone smoothly in LJ-land as well.

Thank you to all of you who wished me a happy holiday in my last entry, with special thanks to poisoninjest, bailunrui, thebratqueen, sunflwgal, transtempts, and obsessedmuch. I got all of your cards tonight. Lar, I'd intended to send you your card with the bundle of letters that I've been writing, but misplaced your address. Now that I have it again, I'll be sending you a letter/belated card within the week.

I also have my Secret Slasha story to offer, an NC-17 Wes/Lindsey for Turtle. I'll post it in my next entry.

For Christmas, I was really spoiled. I ended up buying Mike the DMB Central Park concert on cd, Babe, Babe: Pig in the City, and all three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on DVD (box sets rock). He gave me LOTR: The Two Towers Extended Edition and a gorgeous green leather journal. I got cooking stuff from the moms (mine and Mike's)... a skillet, a griddle, odds and ends. And a Swiffer-thingy for our floors. I got tons of gift cards, which means yay for a new Victoria's Secret bra, a pair of pinstripe slacks, and a mini-splurge on a black leather motorcycle jacket to look all bad-ass in. And a digital camera. Oh yes. Prepare to be bombarded with ridiculously adorable photos of my pets.

Plus I picked up a new hobby: cross-stitch. My mother's now cooing that she's domesticating me or some such blather. It's engrossing, I tell you. The truth of it is that in my house, if you don't keep your brain occupied at all times, things go awry. So between cross-stitching and re-reading the first four Dune novels, I've been keeping myself occupied for sanity's sake.

So. I will post random pics, Secret Slasha, and an entry for Mike later. Right now, I'm waiting on my cousin, Stacy. She just asked me to sing at her wedding, which is the 17th. She's dropping me off the music so that I can learn Schubert's Ave Maria by Sunday. Oi. I bet Margie has a recording to aid my plunking it out on the keyboard. So.

I'm so excited to be back. Three weeks of sitting on my butt, drinking Jasmine tea, doodling around and finishing my compendium sounds like heaven to me.
