It feels like a Saturday to me.

My finals are done, and I slept in past 8:40 am sprawled out an my bed for the first time in months. It felt great.

I only have a rew errands to run-- a few check-outs to do and the like.

Finals were okay yesterday. I did better on my Grammar exam than I did on any of the other ones, which is good because it was worth 30% of my grade. It consisted of a few essays on dialect and speech styles, and I always do well on essays. The actual sentence diagramming was only a small section worth 18 points, so I was relieved about that. The rest was IPA translations, and I did that in about four languuages when I was in high school, so it was a breeze to me. As it turns out, the IPA-->English examples we had to 'translate' were Woody Allen quotes. :) There should have been more of them, I can read IPA almost as well as straight English because it's basically a very simple phonetic code.

My French exam was a little more squirrelly. I got the cultural issue quite easily (a 10 minute oral dissertation of the foundation of Paris and the Sorbonne in French), but my impromptu discussion of the conditional tense was a little off. We hardly ever use it, so I mixed it up with imperfect tense. Grrrgh.

I've resigned myself to about a 3.5 GPA for the semester which will most likely drag me down to 3.7 overall. As I want to graduate at least magna cum laude, this will not do. At least I go back to lit classes next semester. And music theory, which is a fairly easy class for me. I don't know why I'm so awful at math but theory comes so easily-- it's basically just visual math that you can proof on a keyboard. I'm also taking an 8:20 French class in English (it's about colonization and whatnot) to complete my minors. Add into the mix some military-style rapelling and some archery near the end of the semester, and there you have it. Provided I don't get overwhelmed with work, my GPA should live.

And now, I'm going to shower and make myself breakfast. I should also clean my room and pack a little bit. Aster's supposed to come over for a little while, so we'll see how that goes. Later.

flyrangel, I got your card today! Funny thing is that "God Jul" may be one of the exactly three or so lines I can understand in Swedish. Thank you!

Also, some link spammage to get out there before I'm gone tomorrow...Collapse )
