Five things I will buy when I get paid next monday:

1. Shampoo
2. Conditioner
3. A new toothbrush
4. Apple cider
5. Ten more icons (!)

So. Uh. Yay for payday. And it's direct deposit this month.

On the flipside, I have laundry to do tonight and and I'm going to straighten my room. Then I'm going to watch Velvet Goldmine for the first time and take a few notes so I can cap it and make icons to share in _freya_'s honor. Next week: Hedwig.

I get my sestina back tomorrow. I can't wait to get my greedy hands on it. It's gonna take forever and a day, but I'm going to re-write it, substituting end-word "ash" for "tangle." I'm keeping "Jesus" though.

I had a sonnet due this morning. I'd been completely brain-blocked all week, so when 8:00 am rolled around this morning, I knew I just had to pump something out. So I wrote a Sappho homage. Girl touching is always of the good. It needs tweaking and stuff. Hopefully by the end of the semester, I'll be able to post my finished portfolio, though. Maybe one or two omissions-- poems that I wrote because I had to that I just can't breathe life into.

Probable class schedule for next semester:

English:
Shakespeare (MWF 10:20-11:20)
Whitman & Dickinson (MWF 11:30-12:30)

French (this finishes my minor! Yay!):
The French Speaking World (T/Th 8:20-9:50)

Music (this finishes my other minor! Yay!):
Music Theory II (T/TH 3:00-4:30)

PE:
Rapelling (MW 3:00-4:30)
or
Archery (T/TH 10:00-11:30)

Electives:
Voice Lesson (TBA)
Music Theater/Opera Workshop (TBA, probably audited)

Voila! Not too shabby. I'm actually going to have to take electives my senior year so I can keep resident status. Woohoo. On the minus side, I won't have time for creative writing: fiction next semester, so I'm going to have to take it senior year.

In other news, I changed my userinfo pics. The other ones were so emo they burned my eyeballs.

What Flavour Are You? I taste like Menthol.I taste like Menthol.

I am refreshingly different; some people don't appreciate that. My sharp honesty gets up some people's noses, while others really enjoy it. I am something of an acquired taste. What Flavour Are You?

(If you were not menthol, you would be tea.)

What Flavour Are You? Cor blimey, I taste like Tea.Cor blimey, I taste like Tea.

I am a subtle flavour, quiet and polite, gentle, almost ambient. My presence in crowds will often go unnoticed. Best not to spill me on your clothes though, I can leave a nasty stain. What Flavour Are You?

Why is this funny? While I was taking the quiz, I was drinking tea and eating a peppermint patty.

I have no willpower.

That is all.

ETA: Okay. Waaaay too much drama has been going on lately. I have only to say that:

People! They are 100x100 pixel boxes!

Or even less than that. I get that icon makers put lots of effort into their work-- I love to make icons and I sometimes spend ridiculous amounts of time fiddling with them. Fitting beauty into a tiny box is a strange little artform all it's own. But for godssakes. It's a tiny box. Let's not get all bent out of shape over it.

Taking lots of time on an icon to make it beautiful is fine. It shows you're creative and you care about your work. Basing your emotional well-being on its success/feedback is not.

Feedback is lovely. I admit that. But these contests and such need to be taken with a grain of salt. Competition has overshadowed their purpose, and that's kind of sad.
