You know you've got an awesome significant other when you can begin a conversation, "I've got a crush on a girl." :)

And honestly, she's SO not my type. I mean, the girl's practically a scarecrow, complete with Barbie doll makeup and straw-thin bleached blonde hair. Ordinarily, I'd snicker. But I went to hear Ashley Marie sing tonight, and she rocked my socks. She's opened for the Dixie Chicks for godssakes... She did Me and Bobby McGee and left me dumbstruck. Turns out that Barbie has a voice like Melissa Etheridge gone country and more energy than my speed freak french teacher. I think that in general, artistic talent is a major turn on for me. I mean, look at my track record: two pianists, a violinist, an artist, a graphic designer...

Oh my god. I have a crush on someone who sings country. Kill me. Kill me now.

New clothes!!

I splurged like $150 today because I hadn't bought winter clothes since I began college. I got two really comfy turtlenecks and two pairs of bootcut jeans that remind me that yes, my ass is nice (my favorite pair is two years old, so comfy, but the butt is ALL stretched out).

Bonus? There was a sale at Express. I got a little cargo skirt for $6. It was originally $36. Rock. On. Plus? It says size 4. I know damned well I'm not a size four. More like twice that. But still. Hehehehe.

Also? Myrrh shampoo. Because it's the little things that make me the happiest.

Victoria's Secret, too. It's been so long since I bought myself a really nice bra. Mostly because I've gone from a B cup to spilling over a D in under two years. The bra I bought was almost $40, but well worth it. I feel supported, which should help with my backaches. And the best part? My breasts are back up where they're supposed to be! I mean, when your ta ta's weigh 6 lbs apiece, they tend not to be as bouncy. :) And I bought a cool looking pair of underwear and a pair of those thigh-highs with the line up the back a la Secretary.

I think I'm gonna make this a tradition and buy myself a nice bra every month. I've found that having clothes that make you feel good about yourself alleviate body image issues x100. I'd been kind of dumping on myself lately-- feeling bloated and icky. I know I'm not fat, but every time I looked in the mirror, I'd groan at my ass. I've picked up 20lbs in the past 3 years, y'know? Such things go with college and birth control and regular sex, but... I think maybe I just needed a more flattering wardrobe.
