Update while I do my laundry at 1 am... :)

Thank you to all of you that left comments in my last friends-only post. Things seem better for now, but the warning flags are still raised. But at any rate, I'm feeling even-keel. I really appreciated your support.

Today was an interesting day. Class was rather dull, but punctuated with Margie's post-menopausal bitchiness. We did more Whitman in AM lit, which is good because I really needed a cange from the doom and gloom of my Enlightenment class. It felt so good to pretend for a few moments that I was out in a forest glade or on a mountainside instead of in a room with 20 other bored students under harsh artificial light.

I spent almost the whole of the rest of the day with Noble. He and Hugh and I were all play-fighting and so I'd say I got some exercise. Then we went to this musical Jeopardy thing my school sponsored, which sucked because the guy who ran it was incredibly partial, and quite frankly, did not have his facts straight.

For instance: The one time I was called on, the question was, which artist sang "Hakuna Matata?"

Nathan Lane.

He told me that that was wrong, and accepted the answer, "Timon." Dude, Nathan Lane sang Timon- he's the artist behind the character. I hate trick questions.

So- meh.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to an Orioles game, which usually isn't my bag, but it's a big group thing and I got free tickets, so I'm going. I hope the innings past quickly-- it's just not the same since Cal retired.

Also, I should have my weekend pictures back, so if Heather is gracious, I may be able to scan and post them sometime in the next 3 days. We're also going to take advantage of the blooming cherry blossom trees and take pictures in those. :)

So-- shower, bed. If I'm feeling happy tomorrow morning, I just might get myself some eggs and toast.

One more amusing thing: Two possible paper topics for AM Lit...

Topic 1. "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe and Sam Simon from the "Treehouse of Horror" episode of The Simpsons created by Matt Groening. Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, 1990.

What does casting Homer as Poe's narrator teach us about Poe's "The Raven"? To get at this question, compare and contrast the character of Homer Simpson as he usually appears on the show with his character in the dramatization/parody of Poe's most famous poem, "The Raven."

Topic 2. "The Fall of the House of Usher" by Edgar Allen Poe and "Bad Dream House" written by John Swartzwelder from the "Treehouse of Horror" episode of The Simpsons created by Matt Groening. Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, 1990.

Use the characteristics that Roderick and Madeline Usher share with any or all members of the Simpson family in this episode of The Simpsons to explain the role of Roderick and Madeline in Poe's most famous short story, "The Fall of the House of Usher."
