Quick update thing:

I watched The Dark Crystal last night. Didn't get to really pay attention, though, as I dealt with two intra-fraternity fistfights last night. The third fight this week in my building. All the same fraternity. Me= little person. Them= all football-player frat. Me= very loud and big with the paperwork. I've realized that I can do the campus police's job better than they can.

Other than that... feeling kind of creative, still majorly procrastinating. Might eat shortbread cookies while in bed.

I had my chor concert tonight. Heather and Rac sat in the back row, and apparently I was the loudest. Good healthy opera-singer lungs, you know. We did a gorgeous set of Ave Marias: Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and my favorite, Franz Biebl. Selections from the completely pagan work Missa Gaia: Mass for the Earth by Libbly Larsen. Basically sounded like Britten on crack.

The Chinese piece was good if not a little dissonant... I have major issues with one of the soloists in that piece. I jokingly say "soloist" because only two people had time to audition, so Margie just had them both sing the solo line. You've probably heard me refer to this girl as "idiot freshman"- the one who tried to convince me that Christianity is a faith and not a religion. Well, IdiotFreshman!Tara claims to have vast experience with classical music. Except that she sings with her neck craned forward like a Canadian goose. If you do that, you will strain your vocal chords because you are not supporting correctly, and you will have no voice by the time you're 30. And you know what? She kind of looks like a goose, too.

Craving latte. Must wash out mug, as chai will have to do.

Thanksgiving soon. The good: I get to see my kitties and eat good turkey and see my grandfather. The bad: I have to deal with my father. But having nothing wlse to do may prompt me to begin my papers. ;)
