So... I got through today, and it was mostly of the good. Eric postponed the paper until Wednesday, the lesson went largely fine, I don't feel dead tired, and as a bonus, I just found out that both of my classes for tomorrow are cancelled. Plus new Angel tonight and new Buffy tomorrow.
And Becky's getting married! Squee! Her boyfriend proposed on Chincoteague beach at sunset on the full moon Friday. She could see the sunset and the moon rising, and there was much with the crying, and awwwww. I've already offered myself as a wedding singer. ;)
But there was one thing that irked me today, and her name is JoAnne. For my MT/O workshop, she's in my William Grant Still scene, and she by far has the easiest part... melody. Betsy and I have some truly crunchy, chromatic harmony. JoAnne complains that her part is so hard and never comes in on time. Well, if you don't have a melody, harmony's damn near impossible, and Betsy and I are too busy covering her part to keep our own straight. Kyle's very not pleased. So, if you know "Kids" from Bye Bye Birdie, you know that it's very short, and even if you split the lyrics equally between two parts, there are 4 lines to memorize, tops. A full semester in, and she doesn't know her goddamn part. Kyle finally told her to learn her lines, and she threw her arms up in the air and stomped out. Then Julie, who'd heard the song maybe three times, got up, sang it, and even choreographed a little impromptu dance with Mo. If she chooses to not come back, I'm sure we'll figure something out. I'm sick of hearing her complain about her part being "so high" when it touches A flat once, but I'm spending the majority of my music lately up in the C-range stratosphere. Plus, she's a fucking junior, so she should suck it up and quit bitching. I'm a freshman, and I already know that.
::sigh::
Right. So tomorrow will be spent sleeping, writing papers, maybe outlining the novel, and working on some more of the Creative Writing Improv site. Ahhhh.
