It's official, my tongue has gone numb. Thank you, Mister Colin Wells of Harvard Press. Seriously, this book-to-tape thing is torturous, especially since it's blatantly obvious that this book was so not meant to be read aloud. One more chapter, then I'm done for a month. *does tongue twists to regain sensation* Although, I gotta say, I had a laugh-out-loud moment last night. In one particular passage, I had to list about fifteen generals of the Gaulish provinces, complete with their convoluted, five-word Latin names. I get to the end and draw in a deep breath. The next sentence? 'The booty was enormous.' I 'bout died.

I've written my three-minute presentation piece for my literature honor society induction thingie tomorrow night, and Heather's gone through it with suggestions. I hope to have a few minutes to edit tonight, or else I'll have to do it tomorrow. It's called When High Summer Comes to South Baltimore. And I don't think it sucks, which is a plus.

Okay, I can put a chapter to tape in an hour and a half. Yep. Le sigh.
