Warning: poo ahead.

"Days that end with the emergency rental of steam cleaners are so relaxing," said NO ONE EVER.

Yesterday was kind of a mess.

I only work outside of my home studio on Wednesdays (usually-- if my boss is sick, which has been a lot lately, or someone needs a fill in, I am the first pick). So of course, it was a Wednesday when Olive got epically sick all over the entire living room. Like, I felt like Sherlock Holmes or some dude on CSI because it was easy to trace exactly what had happened, start to finish.

Basically, there was poo on everything. A thick brown snail trail clear across the living room carpet where the poor baby clearly was trying to get away from her own ick, which is rather difficult without working back legs. There was poo all over the rug. There was poo all over her crate condo. There was poo all over one of J's gaming controllers he'd left where it should not have been. (Sidenote: ha ha!)

The moment I walked in the door, before the smell had even hit me, I knew something was wrong. Because Nox (and I am 99% sure it was Nox, our germaphobe cat who tries to clean everything) had pulled all of the bedding out of her crate and tried to cover up the worst of the pooed-on areas. So, thank you, Nox. You're a good boy.

First thing I did was call J and told him to stop at the supermarket, grab a giant bottle of pet stain remover, and rent a steam cleaner. Second thing I did was haul a screaming, terrified cat into the bathroom. It took two cycles of clean water, dunk, scrub, rinse, repeat to get even the worst of it off. It was a stressful fifteen minutes for the both of us.

After that, cleaning everything up took about four hours. Scrubbing the worst of it out of the carpet by hand, washing all of her bedding, scrubbing out the now-soiled tub, and steam cleaning all the floors. There was an all-out Virgo assault. When I finally showered, it was the best shower ever. Today, my carpet is sparkling white and 100% poo-free. THANK GOD FOR STEAM CLEANERS.

Olive is exhausted by the whole ordeal, but she's absolutely fine. She did forgive me, though, with many kitten hugs (really, she reaches out for hugs, it's adorable) and nose licks. I slept like a brick.

Today, I make some custom orders. Tomorrow I plot a beauty post with mostly drugstore products. I am contemplating starting up a beauty blog, but I don't know that I buy enough stuff to keep it updated. I go through cycles of acquisition, but also I didn't buy anything but mascara for about six months last year. So. Hm.
