I am TIRED.

And I can finally talk about what we did today!

For the latter half of the summer until now, Heather and I planned a surprise party for Racheal. It was so hard not talking about it, as most of the people invited and who needed info read this LJ anyway.

We got up this afternoon and cleaned the entire apartment (which really should have been tip-off #1). Then her bf showed up, eager to get her out of the house (#2). I baked a spice cake with buttercream whipped icing that I bought the batter for right in front of her (#3). If I don't say so myself, the cake was quite good. Considering I never ever bake. I lack the traditionally female domestic arts, as it were.

Aster brought over strawberries and semisweet morsels, so I made chocolate-covered strawberries. It was a smallish party, with about 13 or so guests, and it went pretty smoothly. Pizza and all that. I'm not too hard a partier, especially as an RA. Plus I tend to get a tad wild when I do let loose.

But all in all, it was good. Rac really didn't expect it, as we'd purposefully planned it over a week after her actual birthday. When Nate and Aster jumped out of the closet, screaming "SURPRISE!" she almost had a heart attack, and she instantly dropped to the floor.

I gave her a little silver lantern and two tealites in a lavender sachet. Everybody brought something to add to the collective snack bank, and that really cut down on costs. Now, it's mostly turned into an Uno tournament.

Really, we should curb our orgiastic impulses. :)
