Addendum: hair ennui
I am having HAIR ENNUI.
I haven't dyed my hair in almost two months. My roots are OUT OF CONTROL. It's now mostly a meh-tastic medium auburn with my roots popping through. I know I need to do *something* but I don't know what. I have enough auburn dye to freshen everything up, but is that what I really want?
No, I think I want a seriously zing-y vibrant red. But what to do? The only brand I've ever tried that gives a non-crayola vibrant red is Feria, and it wrecked my hair.
OTOH, I have been craving ridiculous hair again. I think I will probably wait until winter, but I really really want to try purple. Purple with hot pink on the underside.
But for now: red. Figuring out a fire-engine red dye that will not fry my hair. Or, alternatively, a super-saturated burgundy. Something that will play nice with all the pink tones in my skin.
I have been totally meh about my appearance and not really doing much of anything for well over a month now, and I need a kick in the pants.
ETA: Hair has been dyed. The dye, while on my hair, was napalm orange, so while I went in hoping for Jessica Rabbit, I was fully prepared to receive Leeloo Dallas Multipass. MOOOOL-TI-PASS. It came out a very bright red which I am calling "Surrender Dorothy," as I resemble Judy Garland on acid.
