I've been following the Giffords shooting closely, and mostly talking about it on facebook, twitter, ONTD_P. But I did want to point out a RIDICULOUS BIT of FUCKERY.
Sarah Palin's aide, who is speaking for SarahPAC, is now claiming that the crosshairs map which targeted Giffords (the first draft even had her face in the crosshairs of a gun), was never intended to be gun imagery.
FUCK YOU, LADY. Sarah Palin posted that image with the words "Don't retreat, reload." WHAT THE FUCK, MAN. THIS IS THE INTERNET, WE REMEMBER THIS SHIT. COWARDLY FUCKING ASSHOLE.
The aide then went on to snidely remark how no one blamed Al Gore for the person who held hostages at The Discovery Channel.
Could it be because Al Gore DOESN'T USE GUN IMAGERY AND RHETORIC AIMED AT HIS OPPOSITION? I THINK SO.

1. Aside from the appalling bullshit factory that is the Palin mouthpiece, check out this tack taken by Giffords' competeition, Jesse Kelly, during the last campaign:
WHAT. YOU DON'T SEE A CONNECTION. YOU USED GUN IMAGERY TO TRY TO UNSEAT A RIVAL, YOU SLIMY MOTHERFUCKER. AND SOMEONE FUCKING TOOK YOU UP ON IT.
2. You know how I knew, right off the bat, that the shooter was white? Because nobody used the word "terrorist" when referencing eyewitness accounts. Because POC shooters? They're terrorists who know what they were doing, always. When white people do this shit, the media always, always jumps to mental illness, whether it's been substantiated or not. HINT: ANYONE who attempts to assassinate a political figure is a TERRORIST. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND, I PROMISE.

4. New Resolution: I am going to stop saying "you're entitled to your opinion" when I clearly mean "your opinion is wrong, based in bigotry, and you are AN IDIOT." And then I batten down the hatches and prepare for a mass de-friending.
