IT IS DONE

Fabrication on the update, that is. I finished at midnight last night, after a surprise final piece bit me. Iris luster keishi pearls and labradorite. It's been awhile since I've wanted to keep a piece of jewelry for myself this badly. However, I think I'm going to hold off and make one custom for myself once I find *my* piece of labradorite. I firmly believe that each piece of labradorite has its own person, and this one is not for me, lovely though it is-- it's a striated deep teal.

Today, I am --wiped out--. I worked 9 am to midnight yesterday and have been working other nutty hours lately, as well. I got three rush orders for repair dropped off from the local jeweler I've been doing side work for. Ugh, pearl knotting. So easy to do a decent job, so damnably hard to do an excellent one. And if I'm working for a fine jeweler, there is absolutely no room for mistakes. But with the Olive situation, I really could use the extra cash.

I am warming up to my new haircolor. After a few washes, it turned a pretty russet shade that's quite flattering. I'm in the process of dreaming about my fall wardrobe, just as soon as Victoria's Secret re-stocks the cashmere wrap I desperately want. I am going to be all about soft layers this year. Also maybe more knitted tights and sexy boots, as that QUITE went over well with the husband last year.

Next week, I've got a paid vacation from the shop. I'm going to return to working on that social justice primer, and also take a day trip down to the big Barnes & Noble in the harbor just to sit around, sip coffee, and read. I need a change of pace.
