Olive update.

So, Olive needs $400 worth of X rays and testing in the next month. On top of the $100 we just spent on her this morning. Our vet diagnosed a weakness in her back legs, and we need to figure out if it's a simple deformity or if she has a scary spinal infection. For the latter: while that's much scarier, she's at least not been running fevers, which tentatively rules out FIP, which, IMHO, is the scariest feline infection there is. For all intents and purposes, she acts very much like a normal formerly-feral cat. She's affectionate, she's eating fine, she's playing with her siblings. Anxiety aside, she's a pretty happy cat.

Given how inbred her colony was (and that she's the last surviving member of her litter due to said inbreeding), I am guessing it's a deformity of some sort. We'll know after the X rays.

We are thinking of changing her name to Fortune. As in "you are costing us a..."

Well. Glad there's an update this week. I could use the cash.
