To pink or not to pink? Also more kitten karma.

1. The time has come to decided how much longer the pink is staying. I will either have to re-pink in the next few days (roots + supreme fade-age) or bleach and do a reddish-blonde. I like the pink, but it IS a whole lot of upkeep. If I re-pink, I'll be switching to Special FX Atomic Pink, which is much more of a commitment than Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink (and it will lack the purplish tone HHP has at first). Things to consider: sometime after I get my tattoo (hopefully by the end of July), Flissy & I are going to get nice promo pics taken, for which I will not want to be pink-i-fied. And Atomic Pink can be really hard to get out of hair. I can probably do it, though it might be harder on my hair later down the line.

HELP ME DECIDE, FRIENDSLIST.

2. As she showed up for practice this morning, marinatempest found a little rascal in the bushes in front of my house. A male kitty, not yet full grown (I would guess 6 - 8 months?), white with tortoiseshell, un-neutered. REALLY REALLY friendly, and like, three specks of flea dirt on him, so he's likely not been outside very long. He's either an escapee or a cat that some idiot thought it was okay to let outside in a suburban environment. He let us scritch his belly and inspect his junk and trim his nails with no squirming.

Anywhoo, no one has called the leasing office or the local vet to report a missing kitty. We called around to local humane societies and the game plan is this: marinatempest is taking him home, temporarily. She's taking him to the vet this afternoon for FeLV testing and dewormer, etc. She'll likely be fostering him temporarily, and I will be plastering the area (and Craigslist) with found cat posters. At the end of her temporary foster timeframe, he'll either be placed in a forever home or surrendered to a local humane adoption program. We have resources, so this is good. Anyhow, keep your paws crossed for Mr. No-name (thus far), who is really about as snuggly as they come (and this is coming from the momma of three EXTREMELY affectionate cats).

The Foundling

Dude, there is a sucker light emanating from my roof like the Bat Signal, I swear. Luckily, the little man wandered into two of the softest-hearted cat ladies around, so he's got two God-mommas to help him find somewhere safe to live. More pics at the Flickr. Now, time to work work work!
