Taking a Break
The "10 Random Things About Me" meme... some of which are, well, basic, but for the benefit of new readers:
1. I was supposed to be a boy. I would have been named Charles. As my mother undergoing radiation at the time of my conception, I should have also been born with some serious birth defects. The doctors were very wrong about everything but one thing: I was born on the exact date predicted.
2. The title of this journal, "Dulcissime," is a reference to the Carmina Burana. It is, in essence, a musical orgasm-- the response to the frenzied "Tempus est iocundum." In my past life as a classical singer, it was a solo I performed because I was the only soprano who auditioned who could reliably hit high D. By strange circumstances, I ended up singing the the tenor part in 'Tempus' as well, transposed an octave up.
3. I'm bisexual, and have always been. There are few things that make me more irritated than people making assumptions that I'm lying about my sexuality based upon who I'm with. I've experienced biphobia from both ends of the spectrum, and it frankly sucks.
4. The first time I saw a pure ATS performance, I was completely unimpressed. Of course, I was a baby bellydancer at the time, obsessed with the "OOH SPARKLY" angle, and it wasn't until I really buckled down and decided to be a dancer that I fell in love with ITS & ATS.
5. I have synaesthesia. Both scent --> color and touch --> color.
6. My first fandom was Star Wars. I used to roleplay in the olden days of antiquated chatrooms. I have not done any sort of fannish roleplay since.
7. I am a terrible, terrible procrastinator. I once wrote a 25 page paper overnight.
8. I also have terrible impulse control. I've gotten better in the last year, but I am still prone to smaller spending splurges on gemstone, costuming, and food luxuries.
9. I cannot whistle, nor can I rollerskate. I spent more time trying to both than I care to admit. It just won't happen.
10. I eat my steak as rarely as the chef will cook it.
Also... tomorrow (Friday) is the last day to get free shipping at my shop!
I think the next update will go up sometime in the week after next, if my new stash of shinyshiny labradorite ever gets here.
