Notes from the bench

Practice stamping goes apace. Am slightly dismayed that the oxidized copper blanks I bought have a thin layer of laquer on them... which makes them slippery to stamp. I'm going to pick up some plain, unlaquered brass tomorrow, because I want to get my technique down before the much more expensive sterling arrives.
