Sleepy Christmas Eve
It's Christmas Eve! No, I still have no earthly idea what our family's plans are yet. As for me, I've been sleeping a lot since yesterday. It was a super busy day at work, and the sample piece I made at the shop was so popular that I actually had to make up and distribute supply and instruction lists for it. The idea was simple: a last-minute, easy to complete gift idea for our customers who tend to be more of the casual crafter variety. I made a seven-strand memory wire bracelet using only four components that totalled under $20-- 4mm A/B swarovski crystal, 4mm silver glass pearls, gray/silver lustre delicas, and a tiny sterling snowflake charm. Memory wire is easy and fun, and the project only required two tools-- wire cutters and round nose pliers. The minute I put it out, people swarmed to it, and all in all, we sold the materials to make about fifteen of 'em. Boss was very pleased.
I also priced out materials for my next artistic progression. I want to try metal stamping, and the shop has everything I need-- sheet metal, alphabet blocks, jewelry saws, mandrels, hammers, files, hole punch. I have some ideas for bracelets I really, really want to make, and I'm excited about it. Now, to just buy the supplies and begin to noodle about.
As for today, I took care of some 'round the house sort of things. Olive then promptly curled up under my chin and drew me into a nap. Then she thoroughly cleaned my face, marking me as one of her pack.
Now, I'm going to sink into a relaxing bath with a new book. I still have presents to wrap and a kitty bed to put together, but that can wait.
