Someone please tell me-- why does this happen with astonishing frequency?
Honest to my various Gods, people. Stop pulling the "I was just joking and you are taking your social justice too seriously, you sad shut-in" tack when someone calls you out for being a total fuckwit in public. Okay? Okay.
PS- Equating feminism with genocide ("feminazi") makes you look sooper stupid. Furthermore, feminism advocates equality between the sexes, not a complete switch of the existing power structure. If you use words like "equalist," you look like an uneducated idiot. The word is fucking egalitarian, you dumb shit.
PPS- Why is it always that those who have MORE privilege are the first to cry foul if said privilege is, you know, acknowledged as existing? No, the open acknowledgment of institutional, social, and/or economic privilege-- nor attempts to equal the playing field-- do not equate to "oppression." Affirmative action or minority-earmarked scholarships do not oppress the white man. Feminism does not equal open-season on men. Sorry, a ranty pet peeve of mine, and one I've run into a couple of times IRL recently. I need a punching bag, y'all. For real.
