Hopefully the last thing I'll have to say about this
Not even going to reproduce the last email, because it's seriously TL;DR to anyone not me, and the main component is "you are defaming my business" in a how dare you tone with a bonus wail of "how unprofessional." Very rich. Also, though I am not responding to her any longer, I really had to bite back the response of sending her the simple definition of defamation, which occurs when one lies about the facts, not simply states them. I am not telling the truth "as I see it"-- I am laying out the actual facts of what occurred and drawing conclusions from them, which is entirely different from falsifying facts or stating an opinion without evidence. She also doesn't know why I felt the need to write about it, instead of working it out with her privately. Perhaps because when I tried to work it out privately, I was basically given a long version of "suck it up and deal, it's a free market" but hey. Your mileage may vary. After several red flags and fallacies in that email, I decided to make all the facts public record, on the chance that she might do this to someone else down the line. I am not such a big fan of the "hush up and say nothing" tack when these things occur, because hushing up about them is why they occur so damned often, and keeping quiet about them is tantamount to enabling. If she finds anything that I said that was factually untrue, she can sue me.
She did admit that she went back over my convos to her and saw that the name I had used for my prototype showed up in her line. She blamed this on her not paying enough attention to what I had written. She is going to change names of items that coincide with ones I had furnished her. So that's something. She also mentioned that she thought I was using "V shaped bottles"-- and I have NO idea where she got that from, as neither of the pictures I supplied her with fit that description. Both were barrel vials-- one 1 inch tall, one 35mm tall. I guess that's another instance of "not paying attention." [/sarcasm] Also, she didn't think it was her responsibility to tell me about her (nearly identical) product when discussing mine, and finished that sentence with "Whatever. It is what it is now."
I have a sincere disbelief that anyone sent her an email that could be construed as "malicious" nor that she received more than two dispatches on the matter-- from both myself and Stellans. I have no way to prove that, but my bullshit meter is going ringading-ding after the whole victimization thing she's pulling. All in all, she is calling this "a huge misunderstanding" and I completely don't buy that for one eensy weensy second. But I am done with her, and I am content to let things drop so long as they do not continue to escalate. I am very happy that I've only ordered botanicals from her, which do not bear any sort of psychic imprint from previous owners. I won't have to waste time and energy cleansing things.
