Summer Altar + Olive pics

Voila, the summer altar!

I just got my cauldron today! It is currently purifying with flowers, sea salt, water, and frankincense. After today, I have a few things to burn, baby, burn. The last shot is the full set up. All my books... including ones I consider bad books-- I think it's important to have a few of those onhand to show the difference. I'm wondering if I shouldn't get some of the "classics" just for the sake of reference. I never did get a copy of Uncle Bucky's Big Blue Book. What books do you consider Pagan must-haves?

Before Nora & I had a bead run, J and I ran tons of errands. First stop: Petsmart to pick up more kitty food. They were having kitten adoptions when we went in, so I ooooohed and aaaaaaahed and petted a pretty little girl named Peppermint who looks like she'll be adopted by a family today. I can't wait to get Olive a kitty companion-- she has been super in need of a constant playmate, since her humans have these pesky things called "jobs." We also hit Trader Joe's to restock our pantry and are planning on making a big bowl of garlic goulash for dinner... I also got salmon burgers, stuff to make chicken, rice, and curry, and lots of other yummy stuff. I also have a mango lassi recipe I really want to try soon.

Latest pics of Olive! For one, she deigns to drink out of her water bowl but is much happier when her humans sit out a glass for her. Don't worry, we watch her really closely when we do this, so she's in no danger or drinking something other than water. (I hate that I have to make disclaimers, but I just know that someone trying to be helpful will bring this up and I'll have to bite back my response of, "well duh." The amount of backseat mommying indeed makes me afeared to have a child if I'm still blogging then.) For two, she likes to either play video games with J or sleep on his lap while he does. For three... and whoa, not the most flattering pic of me... but last night I fell asleep while reading in the reclining chair. Olive thought I looked really comfy, jumped up on my chest, put her paws around my neck, and promptly went to sleep, too. J snapped this one with his cameraphone.

Off to start dinner!
