The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through the General Subdirectorate of Irrigation, Natural Paths and Rural Infrastructures, makes SiAR app available to citizens, an application that allows the management of an irrigation program by calculating water needs. and irrigation doses of 104 crops, taking as reference evapotranspiration that calculated through the data provided by the network of SiAR stations (Agroclimatic Information System for Irrigation), which has more than 500 stations located in 12 autonomous communities.
From the application you can consult:
- Daily and weekly irrigation needs for your crop
- Water status of your plot
- Weather data
SiAR app allows you to manage your crop in a personalized way, selecting:
- Location of the plot
- Seedtime
- Irrigation system
- Soil typology
- Planting frame and crown diameter for woody crops
- Units of measurement of results
- Contributed risks
SiAR app assigns the SiAR station closest to your plot and uses the reference evapotranspiration (using FAO-56), calculated from the data from said station, to provide the water needs of your crop. This information is displayed both numerically and graphically.
The possibility of configuring the volume, surface and flow units makes SiAR app adaptable to both small plots and large irrigated areas.
For a quick and easy visualization of the status of your plot, three types of graphs are offered that show its evolution since the crop was created:
- Soil condition
- Water contributions
- Hydric balance
The irrigation provided by the user can be entered into the application by time, volume or even covering water needs. In the first two cases it will be necessary to configure your irrigation system.
In addition to irrigation needs, SiAR app allows you to view real-time meteorological data from the SiAR station assigned to your plot, as well as consult data from previous days.
Among other features of the SiAR app, which facilitate irrigation programming, are the weather forecast for the next 5 days for the municipality where your plot is located, as well as sending notifications or warnings when your crop changes state or when the forecast weather meets a series of conditions specified by the user.
The SiAR app widget allows you to consult the status of the crops created in a simple, visual and summarized way.

SiAR app aims to become a useful tool at the service of the farmer, helping to optimize the use of water in irrigation, promoting its economic, social and environmental sustainability.
