Well I am currently at work and kinda bored as my receptionist duties are very limited and the phone isn't exactly ringing off the hook. Not that I'm complaining about that as I have the worst phone skills in the history of receptionists...I'm not even slightly kidding! I have accidentally hung up on three people today while trying to put them on hold. All three rang back and acted like they had no recollection that they were hung up on...which was decent of them but still incredibly embarassing on my behalf.

Glee! This show is so incredibly wonderful and will definately be my new obsession come September. The characters, the plot- I was genuinely suprised by the depth of this show and how incredibly well-rounded it is. I can see Finn/Rachel being my canon OTP on the show as they were adorable and both great individual characters. I reccomend it to those who already haven't watched it. I've already spent a considerable amount of time explaining to one of my best friends that it is NOT like High School Musical after I showed her "Don't Stop Believin" on YouTube. I don't think she's convinced but I have till September to completely convert her to the awesomness that is Glee.

FOOTBALL! I just finished my fifth St Kilda tribute last night which I am extremely proud of and is an explosion of love towards my undefeated, top of the table Sainters! There is currently a bye-week now hence I decided to make the video and after Friday Night's heartstopper against Carlton it felt needed. If only for Dawson's little jig after his goal! So freakin awesome! Even better, which I didn't include and am depressed that I didn't is his little smile as he watched back the replay of his goal on the big screen. You can only imagine the positive thoughts that were going through his little head. He deserved it though...he is seriously the feel-good football story of the year for mine! WOO DAWSON! I will post this video tomorrow...not that anybody will watch it..but for my own piece of mind. Also, I WANT MAGUIRE TO PLAY HIS 100TH SOON! Its been 12 weeks and he hasn't gotten a game yet! There was the first emergency false alarm but...nadda. 2004 Laura craves for this 100th game of his...seriously. I would be more furious if we weren't undefeated and on a role though.

The Hangover! Watched The Hangover last week...funniest movie of the year, without a doubt. I was laughing the entire time and I LOVED the casting! Will from Alias, Andy from The Office, Riley from National Treasure....Morgue guy from Tru Calling whose character name has completely escaped me! SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!

The Rules of Attraction! Watched this movie the other night due to the cast- Ian Somerhalder, James Van Der Beek, Jessica Biel, Kate Bosworth...but I had no idea what it was about. I thought it was just a simple romantic comedy. WRONG! I have now learnt a valuable life lesson. Before watching a movie you know nothing about, WATCH THE TRAILER! It took me about 20 minutes to go onto IMDB to check the rating of the movie...meanwhile the movie had showed three sex scenes (and three different ways to go about having sex), graphic drug use, nudity, swearing and a host of other things before I found out it was rated R (which is the worst rating here in Australia). I'm pretty uncultured and have a dislike towards R rated movies that aren't horror, mainly because they are just too explicit to me...but I continued watching this one because I felt it was my duty, as an 18 year old, to not wimp out and to continue to watch it. So I did. Man, oh man, was it a time. By the end, I mean, I didn't violently hate it...I think I just disliked it considerably. It had its moments. Few and far between. In between those moments however was a really graphic suicide scene, full frontal nudity of both varieties, a host of sex scenes with very detailed narration from the people involved, lots of jerking off...Anyways, point is...life lesson, WATCH THE TRAILER BEFORE YOU WATCH THE MOVIE! Also, this is an embarrassing story. Some people just don't like R-rated movies though..has to be said.

Vidding...can't think of anything that immediately screams out at me as a MUST VID! So we'll see. Hopefully something comes to mind. Though 3 videos in 2 weeks is no mean feat.

Greek! Have I mentioned my love for Greek before? I ADORE THIS SHOW! I adore Cappie actually. One of the greatest characters on television...he's so great! And I love Cappie/Casey and all the related angst and sweetness. Just downloaded the second half of Season 1 so am going through that at the moment. Great great show!

Okay, so here is what seems to be my yearly Drue/Jen video. I seriously love these two...the history, the banter, the cuteness...seriously Jen knows Drue is a jerk and yet perseveres with him...its cute because deep down he really cares about her and damnit I really wish Mark Matkevich was in season five- though their final scene at graduation is probably my favourite scene of theirs. I think this is my favourite Jen/Drue video I have made and I think there is the strongest possible I will continue to vid them (despite the complete lack of clips). Kind of like Xander/Cordelia from BTVS, these two are one of my all-time favourite television couples and are just so much fun to vid- hence I keep doing it!!

As for the video, I guess its kind of AU. I mean Jen and Drue never really got together. This is just a small tribute to their relationship and its inevitability. The pair fight their feelings but know they are meant for each other.

Okay...honestly, I swear 13 year old me just DIED of a Zack Attack!! My god I love Jimmy's show...I mean besides the fact that its an amazing show...he is organising a Saved By The Bell reunion!! Only Kelly and Screech left before EVERYONE IS IN!! Okay I have never been so excited for a TV reunion before!!

Anyways...if your a Saved by the Bell fan watch the clip below to see Mark-Paul Gosselaar do an entire interview pretending to be Zack Morris AND he sang "Friends Forever" with The Roots on the episode!!

Okay, firstly, my site was shut down around 2 weeks ago meaning that all my uploaded video links are effectively broken. I'm not sure if I'm going to find another host or re-upload the videos but for now, as I make new ones, I'll upload them to Mediafire so they can at least be downloaded.

SEMESTER ONE IS OVER!! I now have a 12 week break after successfully handing in all my 1st semester assignments at the end of the week. I have lots of vidding projects planned so keep an eye out ;)

And in AFL news that nobody cares about except me, THE SAINTERS HAVE WON 11 IN A ROW!!! Oww!! Club record, better than 2004...can I get a hell yeah!! I am going to be making a video probably about the first 10 rounds soon because I NEED to vid there amazing success...waay too tempting not to.

This video is about Ian Somerhalder and Katherine Moennig's characters on the short-lived Dawson's Creek spin-off "Young Americans". Just in case you watch the video and want an idea of whats going on, Hamilton becomes friends with Jake, who is a girl but attending an all-boy school masqueraded as a boy. Hamilton doesn't know this. Jake begins falling for Hamilton, and, without knowing Jake is female, Hamilton begins falling for her as well...so he thinks he is gay and basically fights with this for a few episodes as he struggles to understand his relationship and feelings for Jake. Then, finally, after much emotional torment, Jake tells Hamilton she is a girl..and they spend the rest of the season together as a couple while pretending they are only friends, all the while everyone at the academy thinks they are gay. It sounds complicated but its a really quirky storyline and the characters are really engaging. Ian Somerhalder especially...just cos he's so adorable!! BOONE FTW!!

I've had this song in mind for a Jake/Hamilton video since I watched the show as a I felt it perfectly captures the confusion both characters have over their desires to be with each other. Nothing really to say about the editing except the video quality is crap!! The show isn't on DVD and the downloaded quality is pretty bad...otherwise enjoy!!

Finale Week

OMG!! Finale week this week...SO EXCITING!! I really have nothing else to say...

Oh, except that my Top 3 Favourite TV Couples of right now...NAVID/ADRIANNA (90210), CHUCK/BLAIR (GOSSIP GIRL) AND BARNEY/ROBIN (HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER) are hopefully all in for an amazing final episode!! Especially the latter because Navid/Adrianna have been amazing all season. I don't know if there are any 90210 fans on my flist but Navid/Adrianna MAKE that show for me...they are so adorable and were so great in the latest ep! Especially posing for photos at the prom..SO CUTE!! I cannot wait for Barney/Robin and Chuck/Blair tomorrow...OMG!! I think I am having a fangirl finale attack!!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Over the weekend I saw Wolverine after hearing some scathing reviews beforehand and to be honest I actually really enjoyed it. Maybe it was the extremely low expectations, maybe it was the additions of Taylor Kitsch and Ryan Reynolds...or maybe it was actually the plot of the movie...whatever it was, I really really liked it and thought it was definately an improvement on X-men 3!

*Spoilers ahead*

Okay...actor thoughts...

Hugh Jackman is incredible and does a great job reprising Wolverine. Seriously, I am so glad he is finally gaining the A-list status he rightfully deserves! Anyways, I really liked the storyline with Kayla and finally seeing the proper relationship he had with Stryker was really satisfying and related well to the second X-Men.

Liev Schrieber was such a suprise! I only really know him from the Scream trilogy as creepy Cotton and he was so good as the evil Victor Creed. Though the Wolverine V Victor fights were all very similar and unoriginal, I really liked how they potrayed the sibling side of their relationship.

TAYLOR KITSCH!! I was so excited when he came on screen!! I was unsure however how Taylor would go with a cajun accent and though he kinda slipped into Riggins at moments, he actually didn't do too bad...especially in his first scene!! Seriously, Taylor has an amazing screen presence and managed to show charisma and humour in his role as Gambit. Way underused and I really hope when FOX decide to make another Origin film that Gambit is a fixture in it.

Ryan Reynolds is one of my favourite all-time actors and the fact that his character was sarcastic and humourous (in his, what, 5 minutes!?!) made me have Two Guys and a Girl flashbacks. Seriously, they should've kept Wade around a little longer because he was really enjoyable to watch. Also the sword action scene he had kicked so much ass!

Charlie from LOST seemed so out of place. I can't be the only one who thought that. He played the role well but everytime he came onscreen it was like he didn't quite fit in, especially at the start. He was better being the circus guy. Also, what the hell kind of newspaper has the headline of "Circus Freak Murdered"?? Insensitive much!! I know he was a mutant but still. Off.

Anyway that is all. I reccomend you all see it and make your own mind up.

Side note, my St Kilda boys are undefeated after 6 rounds. SO MUCH LOVE!!!

Young Americans & Life Rambling

Oh the wonder that is this 8 episode show with dodgy quality 320x240 episodes. I downloaded it like two years ago after discovering BOONE (my favourite ever LOST character..aka Ian Somerhalder) was starring in it and it is so amazing! I can't believe it was cancelled after 8 episodes.

Everytime Boone (or Hamilton on YA) comes on screen I go into giddy fangirl mode so I'm loving his storyline the most...even though its quite confusing at times...especially for poor Hamilton/Boone. I'm up to episode 4 I think and I can't wait for the Jake/Hamilton thing to reach its climax! Its so awkward to watch their scenes together but also kinda fun haha. YAY BOONE!

A Scout/Bella is kinda sad. I mean, they really fell for each other and now its like...incest. And I think they still have feelings there. Awwkward.

Anyways, I have always loved obsessive24 's Young American videos but does anyone else know anymore? I doubt there would be any around because of the considerably dodgy source quality but I'd love to see any that you know to be good. Always my first instinct when I fall in love with a new show...I must have vid recs!!

Currently working at my Dad's factory to get some $$$ to see Wayne Brady on May 9th! I saw him on our family trip to Vegas during New Years 2008/09 and I NEED TO SEE HIM AGAIN!! His show was incredible and I loved every second of it...so as soon as I heard he was in Melbourne..I made sure I had tickets to go with a friend of mine. Wont be as good though as in Vegas were were 4 rows from the front and I literally felt like if I extended my arm I could touch Wayne Brady :P It was magnificant...but I'm so excited nonetheless! And Johnathan Mangum is coming out! He is epic love as well! He was on the Green Screen show and was absolutely hysterical during the show in Vegas. My brother and I have so much respect for him (after dubbing him before the show the dodgy one out of him and Sean Masterson). Oh well...WAYNE BRADY & JOHNATHAN MANGUM IN AUSTRALIA!!

Oh and my other most pivotal obsession is, of course, my St Kilda boys!! We are currently top of the ladder with the highest percentage after Round 4 in 13 years. Oh yeah and we haven't lost yet...SO EFFIN EXCITING!! My favourite player is set to return from injury soon as well. After watching him in the two's last weekend I realised that my very long and obsessive crush on him seems to be fading and yet he is still my favourite player...just cos of the simple fact that he kicks ass and is amazingly awesome! Nobody really needed to know that but I shared it anyway because its important for my own personal growth...that and I'm really bored at work and everything I write is coming out like I'm writing a memoir. Aaanyway, everything's all shiny for ma boys and hopefully they win this weekend for my birthday!!

Yeah, its my 18th birthday on Saturday and to celebrate I am being dragged along to North Melbourne V Richmond...even though I go for neither team. Oh well, still get to be at the footy with my family and a friend I've known my whole life (and her family) haha and support my 2nd and 3rd favourite teams in what will probably be an extremely lackluster game! I'm hopeful that it'll be really good though! I'll probably buy some beer just to be like "I'm 18! I can buy alchohol in public venues now!" even though I hate beer and have no desire to buy myself some other than to buy myself some because I'm turning 18. Does that make sense? Whatever, I'm excited to be turning 18! I can also gamble so I think after the game my parents are taking me to the casino...even though I have no desire to gamble..I will because I can! Ooo and then next week I am spending the day with three of my best friends in the city and having my 18th. A bit bummed cos a few people had to drop out but, oh well, more perks for me and my awesome 18th where I get to see Wolverine (a movie I am DYING to see) in GOLD CLASS!! Hopefully Taylor Kitsch is in it heaps and heaps...though I don't think he is :(

Okay, this video is a weird one because I made it back in January but wasn't happy with the final outcome so abandoned it completely. Then, on a day when I felt like vidding but didn't know what, I pulled out this video and re-edited it from top to bottom and thankfully fixed it. Everytime I watch this movie I always feel inspired to make a video about it so I'm glad to finally be presenting one.

New Video!!- Tremble

Okay, my internet has been a crazy bitch for the last couple of couple of months...hence I have made 4 since my last posted here ("Precious") and haven't posted them here. Basically I have lost the ability to upload videos onto my server...well I had until I downloaded a new program today so now, slowly but surely, I can upload! Throughout the week I will try my best to get them all up here for you guys!

Anyways, this video is "Tremble" which is a tribute to my OTP from one of my all-time favourite shows- Two Guys and a Girl. Every time I watch this show my love for Pete/Ashley grows and this latest time (though I once declared it impossible to vid these two considering most of their chemistry comes from banter) I decided to give a vid a go...and its not too shabby haha. With most ships there is considerable eye flirting and looks of lurve but these two are basically arguing nonstop until they get together (not to mention that the show was cancelled 4 episodes after their first kiss)...so not only was it no mean feat to get rid of all the "talky face" from their scenes, it was tough to actually find romantic moments...Oh, that and a SONG!! Thank god for the alt rock stylings of Better than Ezra.

Also, I want to vid Navid/Adrianna from 90210 like you wouldn't believe but I am going to try my damn best to leave it till the end of the season because I have a feeling their will be a lot more amazing Navid/Ade scenes to come.

SIDE NOTE, I adore my Saints. They are incredible. 3 Wins from 3 Games...yesterday they won by 97 points...it was so much fun and...words cannot describe my love for my team right now. I will definately be vidding them again soon...

I've been sick for the last couple of weeks so today I went for my first ever blood test. Yep...first ever! It was okay except that afterwards I almost fainted and had to lie on the floor until I came back into consciousness. That was kinda embarrassing hehe. At least now I can get some tests back and find out whats actually wrong with me. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Been at Uni now for 5 weeks and I am loving it. The course is so relaxed and its Film and Television!! Its like going to school everyday and learning about my absolute passion...its such an amazing feeling. I have to start filming my first film project- a 90 second short narrative so I'm getting increasingly excited and nervous about that. If I like what I do I might post it on YouTube or something and link it here...we'll see :P

Anyways its my day off today and I'm vidding my absolute favourite favourite vidding fandom...proabably isn't considered a fandom in the general sense but its my favourite thing in the entire world (aside from like friends and family...obviously)...and thats AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL!!! It returned last week with Round 1 and we won and I've decided to make a video about it. I know its probably not the most popular fandom on here, but its my absolute favourite to make videos too and this'll be my 4th little tribute. I hope to do a player-specific tribute soon so hopefully I can get that together. Also, I have a long line of video ideas for different fandoms waiting in the wings so I will get around to them...I've mentioned some on here so hopefully they'll be coming soon.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO!! It just captures X-men so perfectly...I can't describe it- its so awesome!!

So yeah, if you haven't guessed, I have become an X-men fan. I bought the trilogy while I was in the US over the summer for like $13 out of curiousity...well, more out of the fact that two of my favourite actors (Taylor Kitsch & Ryan Reynolds) are starring in the latest X-men installment "Wolverine" and I figured I better have some knowledge of the trilogy. I was reminded of the movies again when spikesredqueen suggested Logan/Jean for my Romance compilation video thingy....so I decided to watch the trilogy...and OMG!! I LOVED IT SOOO MUCH!! I think X2 was my favourite...I loved the whole Bobby/John/Rogue storyline and just....everything....aaah the love!!

Vidding Block...Desperately NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Okay, last night while struggling to sleep, I came up with this ambitious video idea that is in the same vein as my Movie Dancing compilation and I would really like some input from you guys.

Basically, on the surface, it'll be a compilation of all my favourite couples from contemporary films (So from about 1970s foward) and just a little mesh of the chemistry they bring to the movies and how their romance is conveyed. And then I started thinking about looking at the stereotypical heterosexual love scenes with sappy dialogue, overzealous shows of public affection, eye flirting, hand holding...the things that mostly apply when looking at different films and the couples within. I really want to make something that celebrates the relationships within the films that we all adore but also shed light on the repetitive Girl meets Boy construct and how most of the films we see today, teen films and otherwise, don't really break conventions. And yet some do. Its a tricky slope because its stereotyping certain movies and their writing of a Boy/Girl romance into something that doesn't stray from a generic formula- when not all movies portray romance as being like that. There are definately variations from this trend.

That being said, if I actually do believe I can suffer through days and days of ripping in my current University-involved lifestyle, I need to be reminded of some of the great couples in contemporary cinema that are well loved. So,

Please tell me your all-time favourite couples from any films (preferably made in the 1970's foward- which means you can suggest couples from 2009 film releases) and I will do my best to roam through my DVD collection and add them in if I can find them. You can simply list your favourites to me or go into detail and tell me why you like them and what makes them one of your all-time favourite couples.

Just a suggestion, please don't suggest Jack/Rose from Titanic, Edward/Bella from Twilight or Noah/Allie from The Notebook. They will most likely be included and their is no need for repetition.

Late Night w/ Jimmy = L.O.V.E.

Sorry I haven't posted about Jimmy's awesomness sooner but I have been sick for the past two weeks!! Its been sooo icky, but am getting better so thats good at least....anyways...Jimmy...

After a shaky shaky start with DeNiro's shocker interview and Lick it for Ten (Seriously WTF!) and the Blonde Mother Demographic, he has gotten gradually better. Luckily, Justin Timberlake saved Jimmy from having a terrible first episode!! And since...it has gotten soooo good!!

JIMMY & TINA!! That made me squee so hard...cos it was so natural and hilarious...loved it!! And even Bon Jovi was great...Cameron and Jimmy's dance off and Billy Crudup did a great interview as well....AND AND....Drew Barrymore and Chace Crawford cooking!! That was such an unlikely pairing but a lot of fun!! I also like how since the first episode they have kinda poked fun of the episode, like Jimmy declaring that they aren't going to do Lick it for Ten anymore and Mayor Bloomberg consoling him over his crappy DeNiro interview :P LOVE LOVE!! And his and Amanda Peet's green screen times and the LNWJF President of the Audience...and and Russell Brand!! OMG!!

Okay, if you can decode that, I've been watching religiously and am eagerly awaiting for Kristin Wiig next week!!

Also, just a short vidding note, since Uni began I have struggled to actually put the mouse to Sony Vegas and create ANYTHING....I've been in a bit of vidding slump you could say. I'll snap out eventually....I had a really great idea for an 80s John Hughes project but when I brought it into Vegas the video files all screwed up and made it impossible!!! I am still doing planning for the video though and hopefully it'll be my next project as I am sooo excited for the concept and how its being done....seriously, my hours of public transport involved with Uni are being used to listen to the song over and over and contribute to this idea...lets hope I can actually make it instead of simply planning...

Yep...its true, I start University tomorrow...majoring in Film and Television...can I just mention that HOLY CRAP I AM FREAKING OUT!! Actually, freaking out doesn't even begin to cover it...I am scared for my life!!

I mean, I went to Orientation on Friday which has got me really really nervous and OMG OMG OMG!! Once more...I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO TERRIFIED IN MY LIFE!! I am one of those people who really do not cope well with change...in fact, I am a creature of comfort and familiarity...new people, new institution, new subjects....its waaay too much for me to handle!! Not to mention I haven't done any school work since November 16th...thats almost four months!! FOUR EFFIN MONTHS!! And if you think about it that was just my last exam, my last day of school was October 20th or something...THATS FIVE MONTHS OR SOMETHING!!!! Thats like...so many obsessions ago. I mean, to put it in perspective, I had never seen "The Faculty" back then...and "The Faculty" is like one of my favourite movies now....I also hadn't seen all of Supernatural yet!! Or "Empire Records", another favourite movie...Okay, I am babbling and freaking out but I THINK I HAVE GOOD REASON!! Where did all the time go?? What do I have to show for five months of NOTHING??

On the other hand, I am vidding!!! First since Precious was released, been in a bit of a slump since that video...but for the last week I have been watching Two Guys and a Girl for the billionth time (HOLY CRAP I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!) and am vidding probably my favourite couple from that show- Pete and Ashley!! It'll probably be more of a vidlet...but I don't care, i HAVE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE A VIDEO FOR THEM FOR AAAGES!!

It was so great!! Hugh Jackman was a great host and I loved his little opening number...and the one he did with Beyonce!! Sooo awesome..also loved:

- HEATH LEDGER!!! I am sooo incredibly happy that he won!! He deserved the award for an unbelievable performance...His family were so well spoken under the circumstances and brought tears to my eyes...I am so glad he won!! R.I.P.

- James Franco & Seth Rogan's Comedy segement!! Gawd I love those two...and I loved when they watched James Franco and Sean Penn in "Milk"...and Franco kept edging towards Rogan on the couch hehe. Classic!! Oh and then of course, this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_7cWW2f44Y SO ADORABLE!!

Last night I got to see FALL OUT BOY in concert!! It was amazing!! Not only was it FOB in concert but the All-American Rejects and Hey Monday were the supporting acts!! It was such an electric atmosphere, they were incredible...all the acts were but especially FOB!! "I Dont Care" was probably the best one they did, because the audience were screaming "I. Dont. Care" over and over- it was incredble. Closely followed by their first performance "Thnks fr th Mmrs" and "Dance Dance"....oh and "This ain't a Scene" was incredible!! So much awesomness!! OMG and AAR singing "Gives you Hell"...incredible!!

This is my official concert (unless you count Kylie Minogue) and I had so much fun!! *squee* Fall Out Boy!!

I really worked hard on this video, trying to create something that I believe to be meaningful. That was what I wanted to capture- meaningful. Whether I failed at it is debateable, I personally think this video resembles a bit of fail. Whatever. This is kind of my own response to the constructive critism I recieved during the Great Vidding Truth thread a couple of weeks ago. Upon recieving said feedback, I felt it was my responsibility to expand my vidding potential and, in turn, I realised that creating a good video is more than just editing. Its about the emotion and narrative aspects that people can connect to. I don't think I truly understood that until my latest vidding experiment which shows my ignorance towards vidding. However, as much as I am striving to change and be better, I don't want to sell myself out to making videos that people want me to make. Thats not me. I love making self-indulgent obscure fandom videos that amuse me and no-one else. That being said, I remain true to me being the best vidder I can possibly be. We'll see how it goes.

In this video, I tried to create a depiction of the boys through the first three seasons- the loss, heartache, the difficulties and all the evil they encounter- while also focusing on Dean and Sam and their definition of family. I had my iPod on shuffle, deliberately looking for a song to create a Supernatural video, and when this song came on- I felt it instantly. That moment of listening to a song where everything clicks and you feel the rhythm relating to your own opinion of a fandom. Its not suprising that this song allowed for that, as Depeche Mode have an amazing ability to create dark, emotion-evoking songs that is set to a haunting beat that stays with you. This video was about utulising the song, the beat of the music and the lyrics to create my own interpretation of the Winchester brothers in Supernatural- every idea coming from my own views of the show. I tried to draw comparisons between events and characters, in order to show that Dean and Sam (though different people) contain the same principle family values. They both possess that self-sacrificing family trait that makes both of them so admirable and ultimately, likeable.

The editing was something I played with as I began, as I wasn't sure as to whether to change my editing style to match my new direction of narrative or stay with the cut-conscious editing that I feel makes me the vidder I am. In the end, I stayed true to the beat of the music and went for cut editing. If its the downfall of this video, let it be the downfall. I loved making it this way because its how I edit. That being said I tried for motion while creating emotion.

Wow...in reflection, this crappy Supernatural video has taught me a lot about the pressures of vidding and trying to find a unique vidding style while working with narrative and creating something meaningful. Yeah, thats my word of the week...and my word of this video; Meaningful. Another thing I learnt, in vidding, if you strive so hard for something, it can end up failing because of how hard you are trying to achieve it. Sometimes vidding should come from the heart and maybe then the most meaningful end result can be created. I am really intrigued to see how you guys take this video.

Ooo...and exciting news for me, I just finished my Supernatural video! Yeah, well the first draft...we'll see how it pulls up and how much re-editing has to be done. I haven't watched it completed as of yet...so again, I'll see how it goes and hopefully it'll be up by tonight or tomorrow. I am actually scared to watch the completed version now because I've worked so hard and making it flow nicely and be meaningful and I will be so cut if its terrible!

OMGZ and so irrelevant to anything but the AFL NAB Cup started last weekend and St Kilda's (my love!) firstgame was last night and we lost...and sucked...but it was incredible hehe. I absolutely adore Football and the off season has not been kind to me...I've missed it too much! And now no more until March 31st! Yep..AFL! WOO!

Narrative-based Vidding + Australia Unites

Okay, so as I make my Supernatural video I have been trying to take in some advice from the concit I recieved from the Great Vidding Truth thread. Basically, I have been trying to focus this video on creating a narrative and a story from the song and the source and OMG! Its soooo hard. Normally I make a video, use the song as my inspiration and let it flow...accasionally, I plan out every single clips placement beforehand.
However, to try and create a meaningful narrative that runs within the context of the show...its difficult, cos I'm unsure as to whether I'm actually managing to create something meaningful or whether its just another video. Hopefully its turning out okay. Its coming along slowly because I'm paying so close attention to every single aspect of the video...which is something new to me.

Atm, on television, there is a telethon to generate donations for the Victorian Bushfires which have ravaged our state since Saturday. I am in utter disbelief at the generosity of Australia, opening their pockets and donating their hard earned cash in times of an economic crisis. Since Saturday, over 74 million dollars have been raised...with more being donated by the minute. The telethon has been an incredible way for everyone country-wide to show their support and I can't believe how much has been given. Its just...amazing. Its times like these that make me extremely proud to be Australian.

SPN Vidding...FINALLY

After a grand total of 8 days ripping...I have 680 clips from Supernatural seasons 1,2 and 3..and have actually started a SPN video!! Its an absolute miracle!! For 8 days I've been obsessing over which vid idea to do first and the one I chose suprised me because I had kind of rejected it completely on the premise that it wouldnt work...and then today, while sitting in the car, I listened to it again and actually felt inspired by it and felt a strong connection to Dean and Sam and their journey and everything! It was amazing...I love when stuff clicks like that!

Anyways, I just had to share my vidding revelation hehe.
