Ohno in new period movie Shinobi no Kuni

Just a short note to spazz about Riida's new period movie in which he'll play a badass ninja!!! To be released in July 2017.

He's currently undergoing training for those slick action moves, plus learning how to throw nasty shurikens of course!

Off the top of my head, I can recall SMAP's Shingo playing the lead character in the live action of manga Ninja Hattori-kun.

And of course there's Tackey who is Nezumi the vigilante guy in his NHK drama, and in his butai Takizawa Kabuki.

I don't know any earlier, sorry. Higashi maybe?

Anyways, I so wanna plan my 2017 summer holiday to coincide with Shinobi no Kuni, same as I did for Kaibutsu-kun movie - I saw it on Ohchan's birthday 5 years ago fufufu! Cos I couldn't go for Kokuritsu BW back in Sep'11...long story. So Riida's movie was the next best thing...plus there was Koya directed by Ninagawa-san, Jun's butai however tickets were way too $$$, only bought goods in the end.

Kaikun movie was childish and not fantastic by any means, and I was surrounded by all kids on a Saturday morning! But it was the whole fangirling experience in 3D!!! Sad that the 7-11 bento curry (movie tie-in) was completely out of stock when I wanted to get one on the way home - IT WAS ONLY 5PM AT THAT TIME MIND YOU!... SOB.

Poor Ohchan's schedule would read something like this - Drama shoot, Waku Waku Gakkou, Movie shoot, Arena con! That excludes the regular weekly VSA and Shiyagare shoots orz. Don't forget his radio show AD. No rest for our dear Riida!

Abunai Yakai 2hr SP 2016.04.14 interrupted

Was watching Yakai earlier wtih MJ and his 99.9% Bengoshi costars as guests. They were shopping in Shinjuku...

We were at Junkun's part(!) when we were interrupted by news of a massive quake in Kumamoto, Kyushu at 7.0 intensity!

Thereafter followed 2 hrs of nonstop news and footage but no update of Yakai resumption.

Praying for the safety of everyone affected by the quake. No tsunami warning, I guess that's one less worry off their minds.
Also saw Tackey in his NHK period drama 1st ep where he plays Nezumi the mouse character from his butai. Not bad!
Today also happens to be my younger sister's birthday! So eventful!

SMAP to stay as five

SMAP appeared live on SMAPxSMAP tonight to apologize as well as to ask viewers/fans for continued support.

Shingo looked like he had difficulty delivering his speech... Have the feeling that they were "forced" to appear on TV to clarify things up. But hearing fans' letters being read out was too touching!

However, I feel that this is only a stop-gap measure for the short term, as they did not announce if they'll be staying or going?

Furthermore, I had read reports that they had canceled their Dome tour for 25th anni concerts as far back as December!

Does that mean their fans would not get to see them in a farewell tour if they were to leave? So much uncertainty....

Days after Bowie's passing, comes the news that Alan Rickman the great British actor has died aged 69 as well.

Must be a severe winter now. Professor Snape is no more, but he lives on in our memories.

Alan possessed such a deep, wonderful voice honed from years on theater. Looking forward to his narration on Alice in Wonderland sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. He was great in Love, Actually. Will revisit his huge body of work when schedule allows...

May he rest in peace.

Happy New Year FL! Many group interactions and reunion in JCD! Have a feeling Junkun planned alot, thats why it was almost seamless.

Arashi the MC started off with Truth. Miss it so much.

Then we had the shuffle... and NEWS did a poor rendition of Monster.
While our boys returned the favor with NEWS Nippon. Shuji to Akira reunited after 6 years! Rare to see Yamapi back in JCD... Now if only Toma makes a comeback...

Fave part: Best 5 of 2 shot combi!
Sho x Fuma in 5th, performed A,RA,SHI! Both were so high hahaha!
Loved Higashi x Ohno in 4th, they did Makafushigi and both did backflip! So good! Fanservice at the end yay!!!
Surprised that Junkun x Kawaikun interacted so well in 3rd... J bullied him at the end lol
In 2nd were Okura x Kitayama... cant rmb what song.
Drumroll for 1st... Tackey x Subaru! Ashita ni Mukatte, an Arashi tune!

Lastly, Ohno Riida was so cute in kimono and monkey ears for his year! Lots of Tackey and Tsubusa... in the past Tackey used to appear in New Year butais but this year he was there physically and we saw lots of him. Okada wasnt there so his cardboard appeared in his stead. The other monkey was Shigeoka of Johnnys West.

Taguchi Junnosuke leaving JE / Best Artist 2015.11.24

Was watching Best Artist today and... Kat-tun member Taguchi-kun announced he's leaving JE next spring before they performed!!!
That's so unfair to Kat-tun fans who can't enjoy the program after his announcement! So people are speculating that he's getting married...?

Just feel that this group is kinda jinxed? Jin leaving was expected, then Koki and now Junnosuke! He of the gag, iriguchi (entrance), deguchi (exit), Taguchi desu!

I wish him well in his future endeavor. JE shall be short of another ikemen!

Music Station 15.10.23 Kokoro no Sora / Yoitoko Medley

Debut of Kokoro no Sora on TV! Outfits were what they wore in PV.

Lovely background of autumnal red maple trees on the set. Pretty!

Very good perf and looking forward to con woof!

Yoitoko Maka Fukigi -- Aibachan, Riida and Nino did back flips while SJ were spared.

There were Juniors backdancing - They Budou, MAD, MADE and Jr Boys. I see this as a dry run for new tour yatta!

Lots of complicated moves involving the floor. It's been awhile since we've seen the five boys dancing so aggressively!

PS. Unexpected Ohmiya at MS end was so cute. They must've been exhausted from rehearsals, that both were sitting on steps of MS set before the cameras zoomed in on them haha!

Happy Japonism Day! 2015.10.21

Happy Japonism Day! Receiving the LE album from CD Japan on release day makes me so happy!!! Tight budget, bought one instead of all three...

I feel that the boys are taking a more mature approach to music making with the release of Japonism. Trying more varied styles and fewer of the run of the mill mid-tempo tracks which they are so fond of.

The lead song Kokoro no Sora is a collaboration with Hotei Tomoyasu-san - it involved video-conferencing and skype-ing as Hotei-san was in London during the planning stage - great PV with some complicated choreography! 39 mins of Making Of is just generous of them! I noticed their legendary camaraderie have increased even more after the ten days spent in Hawaii! <333

I also love Yama's solos, especially Ohno's Akatsuki which sounds very Japanese in its arrangement. His beautiful voice just carries the song so well.

As for Shokun's Rolling days... it just really grows on you. Credit to him for taking the intimate approach - sounds like he's singing just to you instead of an audience. Do I make sense?

Three different versions of the album means so much music to get through! The ballad from RE Bokura ga Tsunaide Iku is so pretty with piano as the lead instrument (I melted...), plus our boys' overall harmony makes this a delightful song to listen to!

Nippon Yoitoko is a comedic song!? I am looking forward to the live after hearing the guys talk about it on Ara x Japo Talk hahaha! :D

Here's hoping Japonism will be a million seller! It's been awhile since we've had one!

BLAST in Miyagi ~ MS Ultra Fes 15.09.23

Really enjoyed the MS live telecast from ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi!!! Riida looked really genki and happy, which soothed my worries about him.

The way he stared and smirked at the camera at the end, it's almost like giving the finger to the media -- "TAKE THAT YOU SUCKERS! I'LL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!!!"

We seldom get to see the boys do traditional dance with fans so to have them doing Sendai Sparrow Dance for Hadashi no Mirai (Barefooted Future) with local undergrads was rare and wonderful!

They also did CARNIVAL NIGHT PART2 Bon Odori ver and I loved how everyone's tension was so high! Last in the medley was GUTS! with each member on a high structure above a huge fountain! Also spotted the bright moon in the night sky that Jun mentioned in his MC. (I am not surprised at all as it's so close to Mid Autumn Festival)

So so thankful to MS for beaming this live to us! We get to watch it before the con dvd gets released! Lucky to be an Arashian! <333

I love this live! Everyone was so genki and hyper! SM winked and flirted with camera nonstop, Aimiya love, OM/SA combi etc....

Towards the end featuring Yama "Congrats, this is our true love!" with them making the heart sign again so long after Troublemaker!! Oh my heart!!!

The next time we see them on Sep 23! Live from Miyagi con and beamed to MS!!! *jumps in joy*

Met many familiar faces from yesterday. ^^

Am now ~~dead~~ tired from being on my feet for hours stalking Sho-kun after the shoot to no avail orz...
~~Shall await his OP talk on Shiyagare.~~

I know I should be content with having a chance to see him (albeit it from afar),
being on the set and all.

However, couldnt help feeling disappointed Katayama-sama left without acknowledging us fans.
Neither a wave nor a nod -- nothing.
Edit: So I understand Sho-kun waved before departing after all!
*though not visible from our angle*
That's what caused the fangirl screams at the end heh!!

I know he's not the friendliest guy around off hours but it left a sour taste in the mouth.. ;;___;;

The most notable worth moment for me was at one point between takes,
Sakurai-san stood and stretched his sore muscles in his dorky mannerism -
shrugging his shoulders vigorously then moving his arms left to right and back again!!
Kyaa! Many of us broke into spontaneous laughter fufufufu~~

As for tomorrow, who knows? They say three's a charm, right?

GANTZ reviews - my paper 2011.05.12

Yatta! Happy GANTZ Day! It starts screening today and I found 2 articles in the bilingual daily, my paper.

However, they hold conflicting views. =(

GANTZ (NC16)

Director: Sato Shinsuke
Starring: Ninomiya Kazunari, Matsuyama Kenichi, Yoshitaka Yuriko

Kurono Kei and Kato Masaru both survived after a head-on collision with a subway train. Thereafter, they were teleported into a secret room and met others who had suffered similar fates. In this room, there exists a huge black sphere-like structure called GANTZ. It issues orders to them to carry out killing missions, so as to continue living by accumulating sufficient points in order to be reborn.

The film uses a science fiction technique to create an alternate purgatory, by juxtaposing life vs death, evil vs moral issues, thus producing supernatural scenes. (Translator's note: I don't know how else to translate this.)

Although the script follows quite closely to the original manga, the movie's pace is too slow, and the scenes do not make sense. (<_<) Though the viewer may better understand the game after each weird mission, they feel very repetitive. Furthermore, the movie revolves around the alternative world, reality and the room - the transitions do not appear seamless enough, which made them lag.

On the acting front, the two male leads are considered sufficient. The actor who obviously carries the film is Ninomiya Kazunari's (YAY!) character Kurono Kei. As for the others who are "dead", their characters and motives are only superficially touched on, leaving viewers unable to empathize with them.

"Geinokai wa kibishii..." [The entertainment industry is harsh...]

Wise words that resounded in Kokuritsu Stadium on Aug 22 and reinforced by Nino when he missed his lines in Sora Takaku!!

Came on subway line and entered via Aoyama gate at 4.15pm. Got up close and personal with this:

As I made my way to the gate stand, here's a pix to illustrate the sheer number of fans there~

The day was so blazing hot that many gate fans didn’t enter the stadium till after 5pm. Concert starts at 5.30pm. Most of them had chilled in the relative cool of the foyer before heading to their seats.

Concert started promptly at 5.40pm with movin’ on, new tune from BnMF album. They appeared from the grandstand main stage and we screamed our hearts and lungs out when the boys entered!

(To my utter disappointment, I was sad not to spot any high wire when I took my seat.) This only meant they wouldn’t be flying in! *cries* Since my seat was just 2 blocks right of the Olympic cauldron, I had wanted to eyeball them so badly if they came near. What tough luck!

Quickly followed by Yurase ima wo, song used for NTV Vancouver Winter Olympics which Sho-kun was a part of as announcer.

When everyone moved onto the central stage for Troublemaker, my tension was so high! Used my binoculars to zoom in for that “heartobeato” Yamapair moment. KYAA!~ They really did it right in front of our very eyes!!! @_@

We then heard Happiness, Attack It! and Everything followed in quick succession by Nino’s solo 1992*4##111. Its so rare that he isnt playing an instrument for the solo and could show us some of his nifty dance moves. This guy needs more rest! He appeared too tired for the rest of the concert…more about that later.#

At this point, I’ll jump right to Summer Splash as I really loved the natsu feel of this song! We’d heard them rehearse the night before the concert outside the stadium and I was dying to see their dance and everything. Alas! It was worth waiting for with us singing along to the chorus “OH YEAH!!!” every chance we got! The pretty fountains were made to work here, shooting so high!

For Ohno’s solo, he was performing in the central stage with a bunch of backup dancers with him in a white shirt and black pants. Oh man, he really contrasted well in that shirt since he’s so…burnt! Because Shizuka na Yoru ni is one of my fave songs in thealbum, I paid special attention using my binos repeatedly for Riida’s sugoi dance. This song has a very “Take Me Faraway” feel…which is great because I love that solo too. <333

Fast forward to Sho-kun solo T.A.B.O.O! I was expecting something wonderful but a topless Sho on the huge central screen was too much for me to take! [the clips absolutely made full use of his well-trained anan abs! <3] The entire stadium was screaming when he entered singing the opening chords and the red and black accents on the screen with a naked Sho making sexy poses was *____________________* (I noticed there was an emphasis on the lips, sugoi following so closely to the lyrics) XDDD

Jumping ahead to MC. Friend said there was a shorter MC on day 2. It was so fun hearing them rib each other and talk so casually on stage! Shokun teasing Aiba-chan only being worried about the concert tour only on the second night!, T.A.B.O.O being heard in the airport restaurant, and Jun telling us Nino visiting the Natsuniji set in a suit and apparently his intention was to check out his idol Yuko-chan and not to say hi to his fellow member?! Brat.

During the MC, Ohchan had gone to change and he appeared as Kaibutsu-kun to the delight of all fans!!! In his high pitch voice, he performed Yukai Tsukai which was very well received! We then had some very cute Kaikun moment when he acted in his spoilt botchan role and even wished the members “minna ganbaru yo”!!! <333

What followed was the fun Arashi Super Intro Don which Aibachan was so fond of! They had played this with TOKIO on Shiyagare the night before. Sho guessed wrongly for his own solo Yume de Il Kara, YES REALLY SHO FAIL…!!

Before the boys could perform Refrain, we had a rare moment of Jun fail when his ear piece was stuck somewhere in his right sleeve? (if I recall correctly) and he had a hell of a time getting it out…Ohmiya kept trading standby remarks with Sho chirping in too but we enjoyed seeing Jun flustered and embarrassed hahahaha!!! (c’mon JE, I wanna see this part in the DVD please!)

After Refrain, they gave us Gift which I had been looking forward to in the concert! Heartfelt and touching, you could feel the members closeness and bond in this sugoi performance. Doki doki! I almost cried...

The strains of My Girl was heard following Gift and fans were in high tension again! I was trying hard to focus on stage and recording the live in my mp3…so many things to juggle is really taihen!

Well, then the big moment for Jun’s solo come back to me. He appeared as a game character on the main screen and when the screen flashed GAME CLEAR, it was time for him to strut his stuff! Junkun was in a bright canary yellow and green jumpsuit, in front of a V formation with backup dancers on main stage. I had to make full use of all the jumbo screens and my binos for closeups. I didn’t expect his "robotic" dance to work so well with the technopop tune and he sorta did an airwalk (his MJ walk) going up the stairs at the end of the song. GREAT!

For Aibachan’s solo Magical Song, he did it right in front of the stage near us! But the pinkish lights made everything appeared so fuzzy that I had to watch from the jumbo screen instead…still, it was one of the few songs that was performed on that stage near us.

Four songs down, there was the UNBELIEVABLE Arashi Showtime that made acrobats out of our boys! Aibachan was suspended in a gold squarish steel structure box – very nervewrecking to watch! Junkun partnered Aibachan who was alone in the latter half. The Ohmiya pair were also part of the show when it was harrowing to see them hanging up so high in the metal box! I was so worried for them… while Shokun didn’t even move from his position on his box with Junkun… I really appreciate these guys giving us full entertainment value for our tickets. *o*
Circus set - thats Aibachan hanging on using his left arm;

The lights were cho kireii for this concert!

The accent dance was great! We had truth, Cool&Soul, Re(mark)able, then minna moved from the main stage to the central circular stage to give us Monster!!! By this time, all the fans were whipped up very high because there were fireworks to accompany the song!! I was dying to see Monster LIVE and now its come true ARGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No other words to describe but subarashiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Watching the PV and lives on TV just doesn’t compare at all.

For To Be Free, everyone was raised on the individual cylindrical stands. Somehow this song sounds so cool live since I never loved it this much before!! (even though been drinking lots of Mitsuya Cider *cough cough*)

They remained on the stands for Sora Takaku…and here comes the Nino fail moment! While balloons were released midway through the song, dear Kazu-chan tried to catch a yellow balloon that flew his way. Yes, in his own color! While he busied himself with it, he missed his lines…!!! With cute Aibachan trying to cover for him with his “sugokunai?!” [isn't it great?] comment (referring to Nino managing to catch that wayward balloon~) which prompted the audience to crack up BIG time at his baka-ness!

For encore 1, we had Still, Fight Song and Beautiful Days which then came the beautiful fireworks!!! As we were sitting in the upper gate stands, the hanabi seemed extremely close and loud (when we turned our heads, it was just slightly above our heads) but so kireii as it went on for several minutes!! Being a clear and windy night, the hanabi was truly a sight to behold kyaa~ Me and a few other thousand fans collectively screamed and screamed nonstop in our excitement…!

I’d heard Love Rainbow the night before from outside so I was waiting for them to serenade us with encore 2 and these guys didn’t disappoint! Junkun introduced the song and I sang along to it, even though I hadn’t memorized all the lyrics. ~~Atashi wa cho dame desu. x_x~~

It took us at least 45 minutes to get to the train station in the huge crush of human traffic post-con but oh so worth it! My legs were so crying out from standing whole day long - I had gone NTV and joined the Shiyagare queue in the morning - and I’d screamed myself hoarse but I would do it again, no buts about it.

# Nino was so clearly overworked that every chance he got, he lay flat on his back on the moving stage to rest. I think his back must be killing him again... Please give this guy a well earned ~~holiday~~ short break already.

At the request of my f-list, I am sharing some live performances from the concert recorded and converted by me.
Due to the horrid sound system in Kokuritsu that day (I still wonder WTH the sound technicians were up to!) , some of the recordings were really not ideal but I've tried my best to reduce the noise and converted all files at 320kbps.

MC1 including Yukai Tsukai Live - Missed opening MC about 1 min? Nino was surprised to hear that T.A.B.O.O was played in an airport restaurant, Ohno talked about going fishing with Shige (NEWS), Sakumoto moment when Sho-chan brought up NatsuNiji, and Kaibutsu-kun makes his cute entrance to the delight of the fans!! [you are hereby forewarned there are some major fangirling screams here]

MC2 - Aibachan played the ~~Johnnys~~ Arashi Super Intro game with minna. (they did the Johnnys version on Shiyagare with their TOKIO senpais on 10/08/21)

A day to remember the experiences...~~Maybe~~(?) will write a proper report when I gather my thoughts and the biting cold goes away...

The morning

Day started not so well as I was running late...was to have met friends at 7am to hit the con goods stand but only managed to show my face before 7.30am...and I wasnt too interested in breakfast (or maybe was due to tension!) - As a result, left on an empty stomach... >___<'

I HAVE OFFICIALLY BROKEN MY PERSONAL GOODS RECORD YO!! => arrived 8.21am at the Dome; departed at 3.30pm!!!!!!!!!! o___O Which means I was there in freezing temperatures for > 7 hours and by the time I'd left, my fingers had lost their feeling...Heat pack only worked while I was waiting before I got to the good stands but no use to me when paying for goods / toggling merchandize from one hand to another to relieve the weight...

~~I swear, this is the LAST time I am going to take orders! Can I stick to it? We'll see...~~

Long story short, we had to walk half an hour and past 3 gigantic Mitsubishi factories in Ozone (pronounced Oh-zo-ne and not o-zone as you would...) to reach the end of the queue...I dont know how many km was that but a general idea is, half an hour..?!! Go figure that! (do people really start to queue at 6am??? Or better yet, 5am? >_<)

The afternoon

Thought I had finished at 3pm (yatta!) but then had to requeue as I'd forgotten friend's photo sets...!!! What held me up was also the stupid rules like I cant purchase > 5 straps or charms...requeueing was extremely time-consuming and troublesome... Plus everybody was giving me askance looks / hateful expressions as I was already carrying 3 bags full and people kept bumping into me orz!! (why do pple think I am so greedy by making Johnny-san rich?! ==> yes, I am a masochist who LOVE standing in line in low temp in the blustering wind which constantly bit my nose and cheeks...

Rushed to meet up friends again at 3.30pm who were done with their purchases 1 - 1.5 hour ago. How lucky you guys were! Which meant with the trip back to hotel to drop off our goods, there wasnt any time for lunch...taihen deshita...Made do with my mini cup noodle bought the night before. =/

The evening

We were at the Dome 6pm sharp after battling our way through the fans from the crowded trains...what a difference a day makes (empty everything).

Wow! Was I surprised my seat was Level 1 - at eye level with the moving floats!!! ==> cho tanoshii!! counted 16 rows from the base. Was told they did a complete remodel as the Dome's a baseball stadium, home of the G-Dragons.

Set list was the same as Sapporo but I loved the updated version of Arashi's history which included the 2009 4 Oricon records and minna's debut Kouhaku!!

The beginning

We didnt have the high wire this time around. For Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi, the guys were transported across the dome in elongated inflated white balloons emblazoned with a giant 5x10 logo. There was one huge blimp liked balloon and 4 smaller ones.

This being the first con of the year in 2010, the boys regaled us with jokes about their respective holidays. Sho-kun expressed his appreciation for getting the flowers from his fellow members for his recent Iitomo appearance. Ohno said he was at Atami (a resort area in Shizuoka prefecture) with his family while Aiba-chan went golfing in Thailand and Jun-kun spent his holidays in Okayama and Kagawa. Nino spent his time at home arranging receipts?!! (Psst! I am sure you earned lots in 2009, you miser you!)

I was VERY lucky to have such a great seat (thanks A-san!!!) because we had numerous direct eye contact with Jun-kun, Aiba-chan, Oh-chan and Sho-kun!!! ^___^ Oh gawd, we were literally pierced by Jun's gaze as we'd screamed his name real loud and kept waving the penlight (me) / Jun uchiwa in his direction!! (friend)

Had the feeling Nino-chan's back was giving him problems again as friend commented post-con he wasnt his genki self...anyways he was pretty chatty as co-MC with Sho-kun but I respected him for putting on a good show nonetheless.

#### Jun removed his costume when the MC started! *cue thousands of fangirls screaming in high pitch* Minna got an eyeful of his naked torso before Oh-chan draped the 5x10 towel to cover Jun's front to enable MJ to wear his Staff provided T-shirt demurely.

My Girl was sung for second encore but that's it. No Sora Takaku, Yurase ima Wo (had my heart set on this one) or Troublemaker... Nande nande?

Hehe got a souvenir from the seat behind me!! Usually its me losing things (AAA 2008) but let's hope this is a good way to round in 2010. ^__^

Observation: The fans in my corner were cho saikou - we stood and sang along throughout. Those one level down were just sitting there like watching TV orz...

In lieu of balloons after 5x10, *kira kira* gleaming gold confetti strips with 5x10 logos were showered in the arena area. Lucky fans rushed down to get it from the staff who picked them up. I could have but I think kids would enjoy it more.

Didnt want to chance taking pics as the eagle-eyed staff would be on me in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, the were 2 mini mic mishaps for Jun-kun and Oh-chan. (no audio)

Going back post con

I was damn annoyed by all those Taiwanese and mainland Chinese fans who kept pushing in our overcrowded trains on the way back when we changed trains heading for Nagoya station!

Grrrr! It was only 11pm! IF YOU CANT FREAKIN' GET ON, TAKE THE NEXT TRAIN FOR GAWD'S SAKE! *shows a fist sign*

Dinner

11pm Arrived at an izakaya near our hotel. We had *hot* sake to drive away the chill as well as pork nabe (finally!!!) for dinner. Only had white hot choc vanilla in midmorning then nothing till 4.30pm when I had to gobble down a cup noodle...

Conclusion: you're guaranteed to lose those pounds w/o proper sleep or food.
