In the Daily Prophet:
| WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN NORTHAMPTON STREET A woman was found dead in Northampton, East Midlands on July 10th in the sixth murder of the peculiar serial killings by the one going by the name Lord Voldemort. As with the previous murders, 31-year-old Darcy Lianne Mercer was discovered without any indication of how she died and with the same note on her person, Beware the Dark Lord Voldemort. However there is a significant difference in where the body was found. Although the earlier murders occurred in the victims' homes with no proof of forced entry, Mercer was seen on Grafton street and was at first thought to be unconscious. When passers-by attempted to rouse her, she was eventually acknowledged as dead. The Northampton police would not divulge further information other than stating the killer was getting bolder, and encouraging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. |
In the Daily Prophet:
Recent Rash of Murders Recognized The Dark Mark was seen in Hambleton, North Yorkshire late Wednesday night. Upon investigation, Aurors found that Ministry of Magic employee Anselm Josephus Fenn and his muggle wife Alexa had been murdered by Death Eaters yesterday in their home in Northallerton. The couple were apparently tortured with Fenn's own wand before the killing curse was performed on each of them. A note found at the scene of the crime ties this murder to Lord Voldemort, and connects their deaths to a series of murders which have been occurring on muggles throughout the month. This evidence makes it clear that the Death Eater group is targeting both wizard and muggle under the continued direction of Voldemort, and while muggles continue to be ignorant of the magical nature of these killings, it could very well cast the wizarding world under suspicion. In the interest of maintaining the Statute of Secrecy, the Ministry has issued a statement for all wizards to be on alert, and to be particularly cautious around muggles during these tricky times, as any sign of magic in front of muggles could prove dangerous. The Magical Law Enforcement Squad has reassured that halting the murders and preventing muggles from connecting Voldemort to the magical world is their top priority. |
