Okay, I've been thinking about this for a while, but I haven't consulted Mira on this...cause she's been MIA for a, about a month.

If the option was available, would anyone like to join us at shihitsu? I mean, become a member and everything.

Sorry, I realize this is kind of late, just want to keep you guys updated:
Mira and I are both really busy with school currently, as most freshman are, and are trying to squeeze in updates when we can. I'm going to post all my stuff soon, because I'm moving within the next two weeks and don't want to risk losing my files and stuff.
We're also going to be getting a new userinfo soon, I just need to complete coding and wha-la. It can be previewed at one of my old testing profiles, titans_fangirl. I'll try to have it up by Monday, because that's the end of my 4 day weekend and then back to school.
Erm, I do believe that covers it! As mentioned before, we're NOT taking anymore requests for anything at the moment until we get school under control. For those who asked about my tutorials, I'll work on those this weekend and try to have some more ready by Sunday night.

First tutorial request. We'll be going from to , requested by steelsnow.
Involves Selective Coloring, non-translatable. Moderate knowledge of PS required.

Here is your base:
Duplicate it once, set it to Screen
Duplicate it again, drag it to the top, and set it to Soft Light
Add a New Adjustment Layer, choose Selective Coloring. Follow the settings below:
reds:
cyan: -100
magenta: +73
yellow: 0
black: +65

yellows:
cyan: +31
magenta: +37
yellow: +38
black:+41

greens:
cyan: 0
magenta: -100
yellow: 0
black:100

cyans:
cyan: +42
magenta: 0
yellow: 0
black: +28

blues:
cyan: +60
magenta: +31
yellow: 0
black: +27

magentas:
cyan: 0
magenta: +29
yellow: -21
black: +33

nothing for whites

neutrals:
cyan: +25

alrighty, so I'm moving soon, and therefore all my Photoshop files will be misplaced since our computers are going to some storage center.
So, since the only reason I keep the .psd files is in case someone asks me for a tutorial, which one of my recent icons would you like to know how to make?

Hello! If you've been reading my journal, then you will know that I am currently dealing with designer's block. By some chance of luck, I have created a coloring technique/style/whatever that is semi uniquely interesting and not entirely painful to look at.
go from to

Uses Selective Coloring and Color Balance. Non-translatable. Beginner's knowledge of PS required.

PREPPING BASE:
Have your base. Duplicate twice, set both to Screen.
Duplicate once more, set to Soft Light.

New layer, fill with #ff9898, set to Soft Light.

New layer, fill with #bababa, set to Color Burn.

New Adjustment layer, Color Balance. Set to these settings:
Midtones: Cyan/Red: -55, Magenta/Green: -20, Yellow/Blue: -27
Shadows: Cyan/Red: 19, Magenta/Green: -22, Yellow/Blue: -31
Highlights: Cyan/Red: 9, Magenta/Green: -19, Yellow/Blue: -13

New layer, fill with #001a26, set to Lighten

New Adjustment Layer, Selective Coloring. These settings (too lazy to type it all):

Done!

You may need to fiddle around with Color Balance and Selective Coloring to suit your base. Please do NOT copy exactly. I'd love to see what you guys make, enjoy!

Hey everybody, it is Charlie! Just a little updates post here.
Testing is coming up for my school, so I'll be on less and less for about two weeks. After that, I'll be able to continue with iconing and graphic making and requests and stuff. I haven't heard from Mira, but I'm sure that she's busy too and won't be able to post as much.
Requests are still closed, they'll probably stay closed til summer. For those who are waiting for requests, hang on, we'll try to hurry!
I coding a FMA userinfo featuring Ran Fan, so keep your eyes out for that, and I'm going to be continuing my Manga!Riza 100 claim. It's coming along slowly, but surely!
I guess that's all for now. Consider this a semi-hiatus. We'll still be here, but we won't be posting much graphics. If you have any comments or anything, just post them here, thanks!
