Evolving thought from my life journey so far: Don’t just be a tree!
Stand your ground, be beautiful, be rooted, be strong, grow as tall as you can be… But don’t just be a tree.

For the most part of my life I imagined the tree to be a special and significant symbol (which it is). One which helped me to have hope and aspiration to keep going and growing. Be a tree, be like a tree, keep reaching for the light above the canopy – don’t stop growing. No matter how tangled the branches, keep pushing on… And many other metaphorical phrases enabled me to stay connected and to keep pushing on BUT if I could say just one thing to my younger self it would be this:
DON’T JUST BE A TREE!
Be more than just your body. Live, experience and expand your mind.
Be like water which when blocked carves a new path and continues on its journey.
Be like air giving life to others, light to others and love to others.
Be like fire lighting the way in the darkness, warming heart, body and soul, courageous and passionate.
Be the earth. Love the earth. You are of the earth. We are all of the earth and as a result are always connected and never alone.
When we imagine the properties of the elements and the ways in which they compromise and accommodate one another to give rise to life, we see that there are certain times and situations in which we are required to behave in a similar way with those around us and ourselves to give LIFE a chance.
BE EVER CHANGING. It’s positive to evolve and beneficial to be adaptive. Accept that which you cannot change and with that which you can change do your best to be your best and achieve what makes you satisfied and happy… To grow.

Always be planted, be strong and stand tall – be THE tree – but don’t just be a tree…
Be the experience. The birds, the changing seasons and temperatures, the time that passes with each generation of life surrounding the tree, the flowers which bloom and wither, the seeds that grow or feed the land and animals, the rivers – be the whole experience.
Feel the life blood flowing within you and all that exists as you grow and learn more about the world and yourself. You are a being who can effect change… You can make things better… You can be in control – if you take life in your stride and be like the elements, changing, flexible and balanced, fluid, passionate, charged and energetic but true to yourself and your nature…. What could be more beautiful than that when what you, I and all that we know is in essence the universe witnessing/experiencing itself?
Scientific consideration for future discussion: “We are the universe witnessing itself”.
Just a share about what’s been bouncing in my head since finishing uni – I hope you’ve enjoyed this read from my brain 😂

Nikki 🙂

I love your passion in this. I had a similar thought about being a tree a while back and debated it in my head.
But I need to take a page out of your book I think! 😃

Thank you so much for that. A long read but so very worth it. I hear a lot of what is written there and I think it sits beautifully often with my sentiments regarding trees. I feel it too – it makes sense to me in many ways. Thank you 🙂
Have a blessed evening.
