Problems sometimes
break us down
to our smaller natures,
the way a prism splits
white light into colors, and
paints the walls with them.
But be not afraid, love;
you are still as beautiful
to me now as you were
in the beginning;
the base hues of
your character
are blessed and pure,
and cast a
fragrance-tinted shade
over the starkness of
my own imperfections.

I love it, Iris. Mind if I use the phrase “the base hues of your character”?

Love beyond its imperfection is a love so blessed! 🙂 You and your loving heart is an Epitome of True Love that had always inspired me to hold on and keep going! 🙂 I always remember your message asking for prayers for the one you love, true enough God heard it and blessed you both with a love so genuine. Would it be too much if I also ask for your prayers for me and my love? 🙂 It will be much appreciated! Thank you so much! 🙂

Wow..Iris, thank YOU for blessing my spirit with this. I felt the love radiating from this. No judgement, just love like our Creator gives. I especially liked the lines
“break us down
to our smaller natures,
the way a prism splits
white light into colors, and
paints the walls with them.”
It tells us that though fragmented, we are STILL beautiful. The most touching part though, is that you see the WHOLE prism (of the person) even though we become fragmented over time as life deals with us. How awesomely inspiring, is this? :-). -
“the way a prism splits
white light into colors, and
paints the walls with them”this is brilliant. such emotion, such vividness. i see it all in front of me: the light, the colour, the amost white canvas, the splashes of life. i love love love xx

This touched me to the the core… new favorite quote is: Problems sometimes break us down to our smaller natures, the way a prism splits light into colors, and paints the walls with them. This is such an amazing description Iris, blew my mind!

Thanks everybody. I write these poems to capture the essence of my day-to-day relationship. And it IS astounding how even problems can be good things when it’s faced with the right person. To people who are keeping marriages and relationships alive by trust, loyalty, vigilance and patience, cheers!

As always, lovely and this is filled with such a poignant feeling.

Oh, gorgeous. Truly.
Very nice. -
Awwww, very nice message, fellow guru. It’s the same for friendship or a relationship – despite having problems, it’s the core character of a person that counts. ♥ You know I’ve been through it and I’m proof. Conflict becomes constructive when the right people are together… It becomes another foundation stone to add to the base of your relationship. 🙂
If that’s what you have with this guy and you promise to be honest – no matter what – then marriage will be easier for you than most. 🙂

A beautiful poem of love’s constancy. This kind of love is the most wonderful of all, but the one that gets the least expression. I enjoyed this. It made me smile.
