Greetings everybody, initially when I joined the SheCodes workshop I was struggling with almost everything, during the workshop classes I've managed to learn to build landing pages, with skills gained during the classes, place me on cloud nine. I highly recommend the workshop to every women out there who wants to understand and fit in the 21st century technology. Hats off to teacher Matt Delac and his team for clear lesson presentations, truly appreciated. Lastly, I would like to thank the SheDreams Foundation for granting me the opportunity to study coding.
I used to look at websites and wonder how everything worked ,the colors, the layouts, and how everything came together. I had no background in coding or computers, and it all felt like a mystery to me. But SheCodes changed that. Now I understand how it all works, and Iโve learned the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Instead of asking โwho made this?โ, I now confidently say, โI can create this too.โ Being able to style my own pages and bring ideas to life has been such an empowering experience, especially in a world that is rapidly becoming more digital and technology-driven. This was admittedly a challenging workshop, but extremely worth it! I'm really pleased with my final project. As with all the previous workshops, the guidance and support from the team was excellent. Matt does a really great job of breaking things down in order to explain the "plumbing" of how a react app works and describing what the code is doing at certain stages, (such as in the case of how the props are passing through to the other components and how the useStates help to set and define the data for further functions to operate). It made it really accessible and digestible to someone who still feels relatively new to coding!
Loved learning about Python, I find myself thinking about the coding and challenges during the day, being 54 I thought I couldn't grasp SheCodes courses, Matt Delac, has made the lessons really good to follow, looking forward to moving onto the other courses. Thank you SHECODES team

I love how Matt explains every step from zero, not assuming you already know the concepts. The pace is great, you can adapt to it according to your availability and even if you already know the basics, the lessons are not boring at all, you only will finish faster than expected and then move on to the next one! I am loving it so far and yet have so much to learn, thank you!

This has quite possibly been the most rewarding of all the SheCodes workshops so far! Matt does a really fabulous job of guiding you step by step through the process of building your own fully responsive and professional looking portfolio page. I also really appreciate how honest the video tutorials are in that Matt doesn't edit out any of the "oops, something's not working in my page/ my code has crashed" moments, not hiding the reality of how common place it is for all Developers of all experience levels to inevitably encounter problems that require a little problem solving. The support team were also really helpful when I ran into a bit of a hitch, getting back to me really quickly! The SheCodes team really do offer an excellent service!

This Responsive Add-on course was a wonderful continuation of the Responsive workshop. It helped me deepen my understanding of how to refine layouts and create more polished responsive pages using CSS Grid and media queries. I particularly enjoyed focusing on the small design details that make a page feel structured and user-friendly across different screen sizes. The final project was especially meaningful for me because it allowed me to create a responsive landing page honouring the โMothers of Technologyโ and celebrating the women who helped shape the foundations of our digital world. I also enjoyed integrating elements such as embeds and responsive media into the page while adapting and refining the layout throughout the project. I hadnโt coded in 2โ3 years because life got busy, and I honestly wasnโt sure if I could get back into it. Restarting with SheCodes was the best decision I could have made. I began by revisiting the basics, completed the add-ons, and now Iโm back in the Plus workshop โ picking up where I left off at 65%. Whatโs incredible is that it doesnโt feel overwhelming at all. Matt Delac explains concepts so clearly and in such a structured way that it truly feels like I never left coding. One of the coolest parts has been the add-ons. Learning how to recreate features you see on big websites โ and actually building them myself โ has been such an empowering experience. Implementing things like theme-changing elements, adding grids, and making projects feel more dynamic and professional has been really exciting. I really, really enjoyed this course! As Matt very rightly mentions, Python is very similar to Javascript, only a lot more intuitive (thankfully)! I can really see and appreciate the potential for the utilisation of Python, so I'm really pleased to have attained this knowledge and certificate! The course was very well paced and explained. Matt gives really solid recommendations, such as for free extensions and packages to help facilitate navigation and use of the various programmes, as well as sharing lots of great free resources! I'm really looking forward to trying my hand at Python AI and the more advanced Python material.
Just finished SheCodes Plus Add-On and Iโm leaving a genuine 5โญ review. I went purposefully slower on this one because I wanted to actually retain things, not just sprint to the finish. Iโm really glad I did. The course is structured properly, the lessons build in a sensible order, and the final World Clock project pulls everything together in a way that makes it stick. Also yes, I went a bit beyond the brief ๐ but Iโm proud of this build. Something clicked for me here, especially around state (what the app is โrememberingโ) and DOM nodes (what actually exists on the page). Once that clicked, debugging got way less chaotic and way more methodical. Iโm not just following steps now, I understand what Iโm changing and why. Huge thanks to SheCodes and Matt Delac (founder + instructor) for making it approachable without dumbing it down. Next up for me: Iโm building a combination project for extra practice, then onto the next course.
After the weather app, I was curious how one could update time/date based on different time zones, well this course answered that. Upon starting to learn coding with SheCodes, I was clueless and knew nothing about coding. However, I was 100% sure that I wanted to transition into the Tech space. I loved this project. We have family all over the world, so it was fun to do this project and show it to my children, who could appreciate the meaning of the different time zones and how it linked to different members of our family. I recall Matt saying that at some point things will start to 'click' and this was the project where I really felt this.
Completing the SheCodes Plus Addโon has been a really rewarding experience that helped me deepen my understanding of frontโend development in a practical, handsโon way. Over the two weeks, I learned how to work with more advanced JavaScript concepts and apply them to build a fully functional World Clock application. In Week 1, I explored new HTML input types and select elements, which helped me understand how to create more interactive and userโfriendly forms. I also learned how to use JavaScript timing events, work with different date formats, and handle global time zones โ all skills that felt technical at first but became much clearer through the structured lessons and challenges. Week 2 brought everything together through the World Clock project. I built the layout using HTML and CSS, then added JavaScript to display the time for single and multiple locations, update the clock in real time, and show the userโs local time. Seeing the project come to life step by step really boosted my confidence and showed me how these individual skills combine to create something polished and functional. The Plus Addโon has strengthened my understanding of advanced JavaScript and improved my ability to build interactive features from scratch. Completing the SheCodes AI Plus program boosted my confidence and skills. As always, Matt made learning AI fun and approachable. I took a two-year break between lessons, and it was so easy to pick back up with Python and start learning again! Matt is a great teacher. The lessons are easy to follow, and the challenges and homework are well-designed, so I feel like I'm really strengthening my skills.
I appreciate Matt walking us through step-by-step. And there's a lot of learning to be had, even when we come upon roadblocks.
SheCodes workshop is a great place to learn coding and Matt is an excellent teacher. He teaches coding in a systematic, interesting and fun way. It was very difficult to process everything, but as Matt always says, we will always be learning something new when it comes to coding. Iโm grateful for how each lesson was broken down in a way that made it feel manageable and approachable. Iโm determined to continue sharpening the skills Iโve learned through this course by continuing my journey with SheCodes.
This workshop was a great learning experience for me. I truly took advantage of the course, even though there were times when I felt desperate and doubted myself. Hearing Matt repeatedly say in the videos that this feeling was normal made a huge difference and helped me keep going. The lessons were very dynamic, which kept me engaged and made the journey much more enjoyable.
