Nature in Autumn Colors

The “peak” arrives late, often extending the viewing season beginning in late November, and most of time in early December, when many states in north are already in winter. All the fall leaves making it a final, lingering show before winter. Below is the Dallas Botanical Garden:

Stone steps ascending a gentle hill, covered in scattered bright Gingo fallen leaves:

The calm water reflecting the bare branches and sky, dotted with maple leaves in yellow, orange, and red colors.

Fall colors in our local Japanese garden:

A row of trees with vibrant yellow-gold foliage lines an urban street:

While entering driving to this residential area, we saw a dense tapestry of orange and scarlet leaves on both sides of the street.

November Rain

Light rain in November is so welcome here.

Many plants have water-repellent surfaces that cause the drops to bead up into nearly perfect spheres to minimize contact area.

We can use more rain here, always.

“…what to do with the time that is given us.”

“I wish it needs not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.

“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
