my perimeter of wellness is shrinking. everyone I've hung out with in the last week is now plague ridden with the exception of Red, who has spent considerable time within the hot zone.

*loads up bandoleer of zicam, echinacea, vitamin C and purell*

with my luck, I'll plague out over the weekend. bah!

yep. it is currently 65.4 degrees in my office. I am wearing sneakers, kneesocks, wool trousers, a long-sleeve t-shirt, a hooded sweater, a wool wrap-as-scarf, a leather jacket and a fleece blanket accross my lap. fashion be damned. yeah, 65 is nice for walking around. but sitting still in 65 degree temp? jeeeezis.

facilities can kiss my ass. I'm going out in the rain to warm up.

target lunch run to get a goddamn hat and gloves, since i left mine at home.

Then I was thinking of hitting Sabbat, but my energy is waning and club often sucks on rainy nights unless fun people are there. I am half tempted to curl up with some knitting and more Heroes, but am getting a little cabin-fever. so....

Any of my yarny friends out there have a ball winder I could make use of? I have 800+ yards of beautiful lacewight yarn in hanks that need to be balled, but the thought of winding that by hand makes me want to hide under my couch in terror. I bought the yarn online, so I'd feel bad going to one of the LYS and asking to use theirs, and I want it all wound up before I go on mini vacation to mexico on Friday, so ordering one online is pretty much out.

bleh. necesito ball winder. no tengo paciencia.

k. finish up some crap and crawl into bed before midnight. sleep sounds sooo exciting right now. too bad I don't have freshly laundered sheets as well. mmmm fresh sheets...

Ooh, and wine. ~~I haven't had a nice glass of wine ALL WEEK~~forgot about wine with dinner on Wednesday. WTF? who am I and what have I done with me?

i need to stop procrastinating on getting my last bit of home-work done. I've been up past 1 AM pretty much every night the last 3 weeks or so. not good when I still need to get up in the AM and I run best on 7+ hours of sleep. between my late nights and the dog not getting the memo about the time change and waking me by 8 AM weekend mornings, I'm turning into a zombie.*

k. really gonna stop cruising knitting blogs & ravelry** and start my last bit of work. really. promise.

*hats off to the parents and insomniacs out there that function regularly on <5 hours sleep a night.

lessee...don't remember whre i was when i last updated but we met up with an old chum in OK City and drank too much of a lovely local vino called 'muscadine'...ended up staying in OKC.an extra day to nurse hangovers and wait out a nasty storm the dodged south at the last minute. Ate at a 'texas roadhouse' and it was verrrry boisterous and had yummy sweet tea.

woke up early and headed west through the rest of OK, the texas pan handle and we're almost to albuquerque to meet up with my sis and anyone else she rustles up from the ABQ crew. Tomorrow is the grand canyon the per haps a bit farther towards vegas. W00t!

just left graceland. It was really neat! Caught the last shuttle for the day, so it wasn't crowded at all. Picked up a few prizes and now we've just crossed the mississippi for the 4th time today!

we started today in st louis, mo at the most urban rv park evar. Drove over to the river, gtabbed some b-fast then wandered the deserted and rainy arch national monument and rode up the arch as soon as it opened. Awesome view! Neat info on the construction.

gonna make it to little rock tonight, OK City tomorrow to meet up with Eric, the to ABQ or Denver after that.

Just got out of the W VA mountains, heading through PA on our way to st. Louis MO via ohio. We'll check out the arch, then next major stop is GRACELAND w00t! So far, loads of breathtakiing vistas, toothless greetings, camping @ the Mason-Dixon campground and driving over negro mountain and through morgantown. Time to get fuel & let the dog out...

oh! The heat and blackouts in sandy eggo made national morning news :( sorry guys!

er, um, I mean MOON. dammit. I always screw that one up.

so, deciding if I really wanna set my alarm for about 3:30AM to catch the middle of the total lunar eclipse tonight/this morning.

seeing as it's almost 1 AM and I'm still up, I'm tempted to stay up, but that would make tomorrow suckier. ponderrific while I walk the monkey and have a smoke. anyone else staying up/getting up for the eclipse?

hmmm...if I stay up, that's a movie and two quality hours of knitting on the never-ending braided cable scarf of DOOM....perhaps I should have had coffee earlier.

{edit: bedtime for me now (1:40 AM) with an alarm for 3:30. we'll see if I actually wake up for it.)

Just got word here that SDG&E will be doing emergency maintenance on at least a one major transformer in the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Mesa/whatever area (it'll be affecting my work off of Pacific Heights and Mira Mesa) starting at 5 PM and expected to last for 6-8 hours...

so early night for me! and sitting traffic with all you yahoos also fleeing the darkness...

more time to do laundry .. whee?

{{EDIT: looks like it's jsut the trasnformer serving our facility and maybe a neighbor or two, so if you're not near the end of pacific ctr court, you're probably OK ...)

since i was the last one on the 2nd floor of my building (sad face), one of the marketing peeps gave me a leftover 4-pack of tickets to the JACK Radio Show concert with ZZ Top, The Pretenders, Stray Cats, and REO Speedwagon.
