What D&D character are you?

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Wizard (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-14

Dexterity-14

Constitution-13

Intelligence-15

Wisdom-18

Charisma-13

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

Find out What Kind of Dungeons and Dragons Character Would You Be?, courtesy of Easydamus (e-mail)

This is a long test but very cool, also all on one page. Could make for a cool game. 3d8 - 15

A test i just took on OkCupid

Your result for What's up your ass?...

A Chia Pet

You have a chia pet up your ass!

This isn't so bad. It's easily removable, but would you even want to? It doesn't get you to be overly frustrated at anything. You tend to place blame where it belongs. If you're mad at a person, it's because they stuck a Chia Pet up your ass. If you're giving yourself a hard time, then it's because you stuck the Chia Pet up your ass. All in all, you have whatever should be up your ass for the given circumstance.

Take What's up your ass? at OkCupid

That was the single most hilarious personality test i can remember taking.
That time of year again

I know it's been awhile since i posted (i regret nothing) but now i feel the need to stretch my typing (and writing) muscles, as once again i'm seriously thinking about participating in NaNoWriMo (very stupid abbreviation, but it does the job). Was that too many parenthesis for one sentence, do you think i'm going to similarly abuse the english language in my Novel?? You bet. I think i'm going to write a time travel story (one of my favorite genre tropes). I recently read "The Time Machine" by H. G. Wells. An excellent story and one that is impossible to emulate (as many Hollywood directors can attest) so don't make comparisons with it, in fact just forget i posted it other than to say it was good, ok... ok. I want the time machine to have a crew of four; pilot, navigator, engineer, and something else, probably copilot (so the pilot can have someone to argue/nap/surf the internet with). The story need a Denis Nedry character, probably working at ground control, and a female crewman (crew person??) who's a gun nut. Time and setting are going to be future/space age, probably using one of the moons around Uranus (pronounced -ooRAnoos-) to launch the time machine. If i need any tech specs they will probably come from D20 Future (published by Wizards of the Coast) like guns, travel times etc.

Good luck to any one else involved in this odd venture!

I'm on the iMac for the first time in just about forever, it had developed a tendancy to shut off randomly and think its '69. A while back i mentioned this to a co-worker and he said it might be the battery, i kept this advice in the back of my mind and today decided to do something about it. It requires long nimble fingers but i was up to the task. so far so good.

the Mac gets 4d12 - 18

in other news The Little Red Wagon failed emissions today (insuficient study time on the freeway probably) so i took her to Midland Auto (those guys rock) and Dave said his emission guy wouldn't be in until next week so now i have to wait (sucks). This is why i always do this early in the month.

Smogging the car gets 2d4 - 4

I got Call of Cthulu D20

Yes its D20 and could never live up to Mr. Lovecrafts ideals but it is very cool and might just add flavor to any one of the myriad campaign ideas i have rattling around in my noggin. Ravensfae, the "Hounds of Tindalos" are gross. "Nightgaunts" are very cool. The magic system is very cool, no level limits, no memorization, once you learn a spell you can use it whenever you want, but it will probably drive you nuts as it slowley weakens you, very cool. It has a few pages for D&D 3e conversion so to me it's universally adaptable.

4d10 - 15

Cafe' Review

We went to the Herban Cafe' today completely at random (drove down 6th ave till we saw something that looked interesting and was open on Sunday). I had a Bison burger, Goober had a Cheese Burger, and Ulandria had the "Prime Rib Dip". All was excellent and unlike most current resturaunts the portions weren't excessive (i get kinda tired of that) just reasonable. The standout however was the fries (or frites as per the menu), they were seasoned with rosmary, garlic and possibly pepper, they were ugly but hot damn yummy. A little pricey, but worth it.

4d10 - 18

Seven ways to win

Ulandria suggested i post on the new addenda to the "Seven Deadly Sins" that has been mentioned on the news recently, so here goes.

First of all, you cannot add to the seven deadly sins, its seven, not eight nine or ten, certainly not forteen. Pope Greg said seven, Dante' Algeiri agreed and thats it.

Secondly lets look at these new sins (i got this list off Wikipedia)

[Environmental pollution]; It's wrong but is it a sin, seems to me like an extension of Sloth, ie. too lazy to pick up after yourself on a large scale.

[Genetic manipulation]; playing god, hubris, Pride, the first sin and all that. However that is the kind of thing could eventually help GooberGuy or possibly give me super powers, so i have a hard time being against it (hell, i'm not :P).

[Accumulating excessive wealth]; Its Greed, this is nothing new.

[Inflicting poverty]; i would hate to walk through that ring of Baator.

[Drug trafficking and consumption]; the first goes back to Greed, the second sounds like Glutteny. But still "drugs bad" really cannot be said enough i guess.

[Morally debatable experiments]; Could you be any more vague here, how about "being mean to the wrong people"

[Violation of fundamental rights of human nature]; Okay, you can be more vague, i stand corrected

not listed here but heard on the news [Pedephilia]; it falls under Lust and i think they just mentioned it to deflect some bad publicity.
Ulandria says there might be another, if you can think of it, post, or just share your thoughts.

7D6 just like a fire ball - 19

Future Gaming

First of all, i'm grooving on our current campaign with the SteamPunk aspects. There are however concerns,

First; "teamwork" its not only a catchphrase from the jobsite, we have been playing together as a group for damn near a decade so lets work on getting along. In-Character the group is setting up a base of operations, the party rogue needs to learn to trust the rest of the party and vice versa, this is the time to do that!

Second; (and probably my fault) "Reach", i keep forgetting to emphasize the importance of reach, we have quarter staff wielding twins, a ranger with a Guisarm, a Watcher who sometimes favors the spiked chain and the all time favorite a bloody Displacer Beast; with these weapons you always go before opponents with shorter weapons, you can threaten a larger area, and sometimes you can keep them at bay (very important for the witches)

All questions and comments are welcome.

this one gets 3d12 - 6, 7, 4 or 17

Yes you can get punished for not dropping your child on his head often enough :P

I also got in my first mowing of the year early, today (i usually wait till April or May when the grass is knee-high)

also it looks like i won't get any gaming in this weekend like i had hoped (sorry Rave, hope you feel better)

Today gets a D4 - 2

HackMaster 1e

I ran a game of heavily modified (and trimmed down) HackMaster last night and much fun was had by all. In one fateful battle the party proper was pretty much whiped out with the exception of the DMPC (i know, a bad word in some circles). He (Damarath) got to be the harbinger of a Deus Ex Machina abd wound up resqueing the party as well as getting them out of the dungeon. He has decided to abandon the adventuring life and if he can raise the capitol, would like to raise goats in memory of his beloved and lost Eddie. If the party would like to continue this adventure the Dukes men are getting especially nervous at the the absence of young Alfyara, they are currently unable to handle this situation personally they may be willing to send a small group of Merc's to help, also there are a few townies who have developed an interest in the quest.

Also a note to El Bastardo; The CD played just fine on my home system, however track 2 cut off rather abruptly, should i be concerned about this?

Sev

My favorite Pho resturaunt is gone. Ulandria and i went there yesterday for lunch, the signs were still up even the window decorations are still there, whatever. It's now a Cambodian resturaunt that serves a smatering of other oriental dishes, we ordered the stirfry, it was o.k. Now i'm curious about traditional cambodian foods but i digress.

I'm thinking about running a game next weekend, probably the kids game, so between one and two after lunch. Last time they were running from two blue dragons in a tunnel attached to a well.

I've gotten the new PC into the livingroom, that was an ordeal. Note too self; must arange dump run. The CD burner works but i still need software to recognize the DVD player, it acknowledges that it is a DVD player, it just won't run it. over all it runs well but i need updated programs to run on it. Feeling rambly today.

BTW the guys that hooked me up are Steve and Stan at Epic PC; 211 North I St. Tacoma; 627-4379 or 779-8142

New PC

As you may know the Mac was fritzing out and the '98 would crash if you looked at it wrong, so today i took the dare and went to "Epic PC" in down town Tacoma and sought to buy a pc tower for >$100. They had a perfect one (225meg of RAM, 20Gig hd, XP, ect.) but i was discussing the things i'de miss about the '98 with Stan and his partner piped up and said he'd rip out the old hard drive and some other hard ware for a minimal fee. So that's my new compy. I'm thinking about calling it "Longhorn" for a program it has, other name suggestions are welcome.

The almighty D20 says -9-

She's Back

The Little Red Wagon, or LRW, my '84 Nissan Sentra, seemed like she was on her last legs. We had to take her out to my inlaws in Shelton on 12/25 and she could hardly go up hill much less the freeway, i tried and like a trooper she got us there, no more than 55mph, but still, got there. The trip back was harowing in all different ways (snowblind is the best term i can think of). I heard a loud CLUNK at one point but couldn't quite ID it. The next day was back to work and everything seemed normal, she was running fairly well for two days straight. I had friday off and got some Carb Cleaner and Oil Additive, tried them out took her out for a spin and she ran like champ. Shortly after getting home RedBaron showed up to take a look at her and made some recomendations (including a new cap&roter, the man is obsessed with those), so we went on a hunt and found them on 6th ave in DT T'town. While out i discovered her Muffler had sheared off and was hanging by a single bolt. There was a Bucky's just down the road and i got that fixed, no prob.
My theory; it was the muffler the whole time, there was something clogging it up and it was sapping her strength like a banana in the tailpipe in "Beverly Hills Cop". She dropped it to let me know what the problem was so i could help her (that was the CLUNK i had heard on the way home from Shelton). The rest was probably a good idea and somewhat nessessary, but it all boils down to the muffler.

This one deserves the noble D12, the Hit Die of Dragons, perhaps the Ancient Red (as that is her colour) so three red D12 it is -15- (1,9,5)

New Books

I just got two new gaming books through Paizo (they are truly gods among ants) for $5 each.

First: Future Players Companion; Good crunch, the art is somewhat lacking and the new aliens are uninspired, but the rest is hi-tech sci-fi goodness.

Second: Thieves' Quarter; Good fluff, the maps are amazing, the art is again not so great, but the NPC's are interesting, the background is cool and it totally makes me want to run a campaign there... along with all the other sourcebooks that make me want to run with them. Curses

Alien head 3d6 in order
10, 8, 9, 13, 8, 16

You might be eaten by a Grue!

Whoo Hooo!! I got it, picked it up at Borders books in South Hill. Watched it yesterday morn to make sure it was a good copy and it is great fun. I'm willing to lend it out to family/friends who might be reading this.

Also today i put up the great Christmas tree. Most of you know the history of this tree, but for the sake of the rest of the random LJ universe; my parents bought it for my first christmas and it has held up all these years. I'ts one of my favorite parts of the holidays.

One more thing.
