A new year is quickly approaching, and I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to all kinds of new things and old things.
But first!
Here’s an interview I did last week about how I came to edit the Lizzie Borden House Anthology. It’s been a while since I’ve done an interview like that, so it was fun to get back to it.
Thank you for having me aL!

I have two appearances at the beginning of January.
First up, I’ll be reading a poem or two from Theatre Macabre at Drunk Fiction as part of the Horror Writers Ontario Chapter on Tuesday, January 6. We’ll all have our books for sale, so come on by, grab a beer, and buy a book while listening to a bunch of talented authors read their work.
They serve delicious food there, too, so come early and grab a bite to eat as well!
That same week, I’ll be on a panel at Little Ghosts Books about short stories. We’ll be discussing writing and submitting. Little Ghosts often hosts panels and workshops about writing so go check out their Substack.
The event is sold out!
I read from Theatre Macabre there last year at a horror poetry event.
I’m hoping to get to Stokercon this year. I have my ticket and hotel booked. Just like last time it was in Pittsburgh, it’s pretty pricey to fly there. I’m hoping that I can drive like I did last time, but my little car is over ten years old now and needs new brakes. So I’ll have to see what’s best to do. It’s faster to drive than fly; it’s only five/six hours to drive.
But truthfully, I’m a little bit nervous about driving in the States with Canadian plates. I did it this year in the spring, but that was before things got ramped up. Stokercon is still six months away, so anything can happen! Crossing fingers!
Of course, I have lots of hopes and dreams and wishes for the coming year, as always. I know I’ll accomplish some goals and others will fall by the wayside.
Finally, I’ll have some time to get back to Serial Vlogger. So much has changed in YouTube culture since I’m taking so long! But I have an idea for how to fast-forward when I get back to it in a couple of weeks.
This summer, I’ll finally tackle the second Little Book of Horror Poetry.
And I still owe a couple of short stories to people. This year, I have to learn how to write short stories FASTER. I know how to write them, but I can’t seem to write them quickly.
‘Tis the human experience!
Are you experienced?
Stay safe this holiday season! Take a deep breath and keep your temper!
And if you are stuck for a gift for your favourite author or any other creative, buy their work or service and leave a review! That means more than another knick-knack for most creatives.
