Writer's Block: Nothing ventured, nothing gained

The biggest mistake of my life has been getting with my boyfriend, he left his ex girlfriend for me. Now don't get me wrong i didn't steal him, we were friends at the beginning but then he started liking me, apparently we had also liked each other sophomore year in high school but since we never had the guts to tell each other how we felt he began dating a girl who had a lot of issues and that took its toll on him and the relationship. He completely changed from the shy sweet kid that i had met sophomore year, they dated for a year and a half, I started talking to him again senior yeah of high school when their relationship was ending as a friend and he started liking me again. I was just trying to be his friend but then i started liking him too and a few months later he left his ex. Now we didn't start dating right away, we started dating December 29, 2008 but when we did everything seemed fine till a few days later he broke up with me because he still had feelings for his ex. after those few days I steered clear of him and let him be, but then he came back to me saying he wanted to be with me so i decided to give him a chance. That was the worst thing I could have done. soon we started having issues, he was hot one minute and cold the next, always saying he wasn't good enough for me, that he was going to break me heart and for some reason i just could not talk to him the way i use to when we were friends I didn't know why, then in April of 09 he told me again that he still had feelings for his ex but his feelings for me were stronger and of course i should have walked away right then and there but i didn't which i regret as well, we worked things out but our relationship was still off, we argued often and went on breaks just about every month. So i began snooping looking for clues and i found out that he still talked to his ex. of course i didn't know what about stupid me, but i was smart enough to know that something was going on so I hacked his AIM and saw that he was talking to her like she was still his girl friend, he called her baby or babe, told her that he was gonna leave me for her and that he loved her and all those times that we were on breaks he would run to her till something went wrong and a day later he was back with me. It was going on since the very beginning of our relationship. I left him many times after that, most of the times were out of anger and resentment because i couldn't stand looking at him I wanted to hurt him the way he had hurt me but I just couldn't. He finally decided that he wanted to be with me in October of 09, but so much damage had been done already. I am still with him but its easy to see the cracks in our relationship because of what he did. Part of me love him, but part of me hates him and wishes I had never met him or that i could take a time machine back in time and tell myself not to date him but I can't. Even now many months later our relationship is still being affected by what happened, lets just say its not the relationship that i would have wanted. The lesson i learned from this is to never date a guy fresh off a relationship, and when a guy says hes gonna break your heart, BELIEVE HIM and run.
